Led by last year's Badger Invite Individual Champion, Leigha Devine, the team tees off Sunday Morning in the 54 hole event. Rutgers will go with the same 5 that played 2 weeks ago along with Frosh Krystal Li (Ontario, Can) playing as an individual.

This isn't the strongest field RU will face this year. Based on '22-'23 Sagarin Rankings, the field includes #52 Sam Houston St, #55 USF, and #66 Colorado St. Based on last year, the other 12 teams in the 15 team field all finished the past season ranked between 75th and 125th. Rutgers was #108.

B1G teams participating are host #82 Wisconsin, #105 iowa, and #118 indiana. Somewhat locally, #102 Delaware is also participating.

Not a good start for the women. After the 1st round they find themselves 14th after shooting a team +17, 13 strokes off the lead. Leigha Devine (T20) led RU with a +2, 74. She was followed by Lorena Rossettin with a 76, Rikke Nordvik a 77, Cathi Graf a 78, and Lucrezia Rossettin a 79. Playing as an individual, Crystal Li shot 78.

Top 5

T1. Wisconsin......+4
T1. Delaware........+4
3. USF...................+5
T4. Colorado St...+8
T4. UTSA...............+8
T4. Iowa.................+8
T4. Augusta..........+8

The 2nd round is tomorrow with the final Tuesday.

Rossettin's 70 was tied for the 3rd best Tuesday Round out of 87 golfers. Not bad for someone anytime but with the weather conditions she faced and as a Frosh playing in her 2nd Tourney, hopefully a real boost for her confidence going forward.
