Ryan johnson is leaving

This only works out for us if Williams becomes the three point shooter we all thought before he came in or Goode can play acceptable defense. We HAVE to have a shooter this year at the 2.

An a side note, the rumor was that it was KJ. Very happy it was not. I feel he is going to be a real real good player.

Neither Johnson nor Grier are B1G players so this is a non-event.

Grier brings experience to a young backcourt, Daniels (Sr)is the only one that isn't a fresh or soph and Omari is supposed to have a pretty good 3 point shot.
One year rental backing the starting SG might be something that turns out pretty good for RU..
As for not being a B1G player, talking starter you're probably dead on, Geir might prove to be one as a back-up and 3 point specialist.,

Damn i just didnt like this transfer. Like you said seelssomeone has to be a threat at the 2

What are your thoughts on kj? I think og rier could return to shooting form for us.

Don't know if he can help as much as I want forcing the opposition to spread out their D to keep RU from shooting the 3 effectively .
But Omari's experience might be a big help and since he playeed injured in the 2013-14 season and had hip surgery in the off-season, 2014-15 might have been a season he wasn't fully recovered and effected his play.
Just guessing about the recovery , but feel a decent pick-up that could help a young back-court by being a steady hand.

This is a positive development. There is no doubt that Grier will help more than RJ would have this year. Then, he is gone, freeing up a scholly for an incoming FR. We were too heavy in the Freshman class this year.

No doubt. And i think well be able to do it. We lose KJ. Great player, but gave the ball away a ton on offense.

Simple math. Keep the ball in your hands on offense and you have a chance to score more points.

Mack, didn't have many downsides .Could've played better defense, but he gave his all every game.

Hope Jack and Mack find good teams to play for. Some people don't realize this but for many of these players basketball is their only chance. It's what they've spent their life doing. Best to Mack and Jack.

And what do you base this on..rutgers fans are always overrating talent that hasnt even played yet

K-Jack not a great player, didn't even get a whiff on any all-conference teams. While we can always appreciate him honoring his commitment to RU in the face of Rice/MBB meltdown, to me he'll go down as another disappointment along the lines of Dane Miller and JR Inman. There was just no excuse for K-Jack's late show for our B1G opener at the RAC vs. Northwestern, a game we could've won if he were a real leader. Kicking off the league schedule 2-0 with the next win vs. Ped St., and 3-0 at home with Wisky upset, could have done a lot a good for some early 'MO for the team and the RAC.

The simple facts are that this basketball program has endured 24 years without 1 NCAA bid and during that time period was mired at the bottom of 3 different leagues. While this futility has continued unabated there remains a segment of the fan base that still says Rutgers mens basketball has talent.Maybe I should ask fans at St.Peters or St.Francis for their opinion.

Bac, I am not trying to over rate any un known talent but the fact is that we won't just be relying on five kids, well have 7 that can play at an okay level. More options and no turnovers for KJ will help out team out.

RC, Jack's stats weren't awful this year. Not great, but not bad. Truth is, these players come from tough areas and will go through a lot of ups and downs and not be consistent. I wish KJ much success. We won't be as lost as some people think though without Jack and Mack.
