Sanders going pro

Hillary is at RU and Corey is not, can't get much worse. At least the Yanks are winning. Good luck Corey.

Fixed it...

Yes I know that.

Just saying it’s strange that he didn’t thank his head coach. That’s telling to me.
going by your interpretation he didn't thank his teammates or any one else at Rutgers including every coach besides Shoes.
I think you're nitpicking his words and refusing to acknowledge Corey , in a way, thanked all for his time as a member Scarlet Knights MBB team. Unless you feel saying he'll miss Coach Pikiell, his teammates and coaching staff for their dedication and friendship wasn't a message of thanks by Corey to them.

Corey stuck by this program through some of the darkest times in program history. He easily could have transferred. Many of you may have season tickets like me and remember the nights when you could here a pin drop in the RAC and we’d come in knowing a blowout was imminent. He stayed loyal and had some moments I’ll never forget like Illinois 3OT and SHU.

Regardless of your opinion of whether or not he can make it, he’s ready to chase his dream to play professionally. He is a loyal son and I will always appreciate guys like him, Myles, and Mike who stuck by this program at its lows.

Loved watching Corey play while repping RU and will miss him next year for sure. Best of luck to him. I hope he makes it as a pro.

I doubt that. He was told Sanders could be here, and he still decided to go to Wisconsin.

Yes, but now that Sanders is gone, he may look at the clear path to get the PG job on day 1....that would not have happened if Sanders stayed.

I'm going with this prediction !

@T2Kplus10 Cant declare more than twice and he also inteds on hiring an agent. Hes gone. Whether that be G-League or overseas he cannot come back in any scenario.

Like another poster noted Pike and the boys need to kick recruiting into voerhaul because we just lost A LOT of players and all of them were the 1st 6 to play.
The loss of Sanders ,Freeman ,Williams and SA means over 30 less points coming back for 2018-19 on a team that had great difficulty scoring 60 points against B1G rivals.

Corey thanks for three very fine years. I wish you nothing but the best. We will miss you, but I know you are doing what's best for you and your family.

I enjoyed watching Sanders play because he was a difference maker that led Rutgers to two wins in the B1G Tournament ,the upset of Seton Hall and very competitive games against Purdue , Michigan State and Florida State.

Keep in mind, Sanders thanks Shoes for a reason. Shoes is a good guy.

He also knows personally NBA coaches. Something that I don't think Pikiell does on a serious level.

I think Shoes will be able to get Sanders into some NBA workouts. It is his chance to take it from there. Sure, Sanders probably ends up in G league, but still, it will be his shot.

I will miss the Sanders being here. I hope he does as well as possible at the next level.

Let's go 3!

The NBA, like all professional sports organizations, produces athletic entertainment. Corey has shown, especially in those 3 games at MSG, that he can be wildly entertaining and also very effective on both sides of the ball.

When he's on his game he cannot be stopped, regardless of the NBA-bound talent on the opposing team.

Good luck Corey. I'll be rooting for you to succeed and will tune in to all your NBA games.

500-700 shots made per Day until the start of NBA camp in the fall and he'll have a chance. The rest of the day working on his left hand dribbling.

He already has NBA level speed and athleticism

He needs to learn how to shoot 1st and then take the shots. No use trying to perfect his current catch and shoot shot.

I wish fellow Florida guy Corey the best
He had an outstanding year & B10 tourney
I dont see him in the NBA
He will make decent money overseas

It isnt the end of the world for RU
there are plenty of good players out there
we didnt have Geo Baker until last year
Some PG will want to step up & be the new Corey

You can bet Coach P has players in mind

Get real. Seriously. Barring some major recruiting coups, Pike's best year will have been his first.

Has anyone seen GRF and derleider in the same room at the same time??

Just poking a little fun at two solid posters who seem to be a little more pessimistic than usual these days. I say lighten up, better days are ahead of us - in fact they are already here by a long shot as measured from the Jordan years.

I wish Corey was coming back, RU will likely be worse off next year without him than with him, but... it is possible that pushing the rest of the team to step up next year will pay off in the following years.

As for Pike's best year, while year 1 and 2 are comparable I think year 2 with the added B1G tournament win is a slightly better year. I appreciate I am arguing semantics as both years were mediocre at best, but as I said before, they are light years better than the Jordan years!

you can declare as many times as you want as long as you don't hire an agent. they changed the rule the rule a couple years ago.
