I remember Saquan committing to RU before Penn State

I ask which running back would you rather have and why

Saquon . He’s a hall of famer . The other one was a good RB and career ended when his domestic violence was recorded

Saquan. Rice had a great initial 5 yard burst, but Saquan has better down field speed. Both were good in blitz pick-up. Saquan is the better receiver .

Rice averaged over 50 receptions 5 years in a row with Ravens.
He could have caught at RU but RU's offense was "subdued" that way.
Rice was an All State point guard in HS and slick with passes

Saquon had long speed but Rice liked to stay low to the ground - he came out of most piles he ran into.
Saquon was always a threat to break one but Rice was more punishing to lower legs (opponents used to complain about heir shins) and a good ball control RB

Hard to go wrong with either one
Rice had more yds/TD but he also had more attempts

Rice gave us the best three years a rb ever had at RU, I wouldn't trade it for anyone. Barkley a little better in college ypc but Rice more yards and a workhorse. NFL Rice had the better six years but Barkley after this year has better overall NFL career, and still going.

Rice had a better line blocking for him in the NFL than Barkley did in his years with the Giants.

Have to say, my initial answer was quickly Barkley.. but the stats... I'll be damned if it wasn't a lot closer than I thought.

IIRC, Saquon was a Rice fan.. and that's why he almost followed him to Rutgers... even from a Penn State fan heavy area.

I have 2 thoughts regarding Saquons recent performances and his post-championship comments:

1) Saquon mentioned running it down their throats still works.. while true... it also just shows how the NFL changes over time. Most teams went to a passing attack and defenses needed more smaller lighter players to cover the pass.. with a limited roster compared to college teams (hmm.. maybe that is coming next to college to limit expenses)... anyway, the opportunity to build a running game to go against D's formulated to stop the pass was going to be there.

2) Damn shame the Giants couldn't use Saquon properly. What is wrong with the Giants? Let's add the Jets.. ex-jets QB did fine at Minnesota.. why? What is it with the management of these teams?

Both phenomenal, Rice more of a workhorse and Barkley hampered by a truly abysmal situation in NY for most of his career.

But I never saw Ray do what Barkley has done this year at any point so for that reason I’ll give the edge to Barkley.

There’s really no wrong answer here

If I need a yard I'm going with Rice.

"Hey Diddle Diddle Ray Rice Up The Middle"
The play that got Ravens to the SB
Ray was a playmaker when one was needed

RR's first TD for Ravens was an 83 yd run.

How is Saquon a hall of fame? He's had a hell of a season but he ain't in that category yet. Hes had 3 good years in 7 seasons.

He's not through yet. And how many of those bad years involved injuries running behind the Giant's OL?

Its hard to watch him and not have sound expectations for HOF.
He would have had All-Time season rush record (from the 80s) with 100yd vs the Giants in last game of season.
He's made All Pro 1st team and 3X Pro Bowl plus NFL Rookie of the Year.
Has record for most rookie receptions with 91

He's missed almost 2 seasons worth of games and still has over 7k yards.
If he stays healthy behind Eagles great OL he's going to be an easy ballot (plus most people like him personally).
You never know what kind of move he's going to pull
