The Knight Report has learned that there is a new name to keep an eye on for the opening offensive line coach job. The new name that has been added to our hot board is current UNLV run game coordinator/OL coach Garin Justice. He sort of has a connection to Ash, as he has previously coached under former FAU HC and current Pitt DL coach Chris Partridge who is a good friend of Chris Ash. Below is the bio on Justice via UNLVRebels.com
Garin Justice joined UNLV in 2018 after spending the previous two seasons helping build the FAU program.
“We are fortunate to have brought in a very accomplished offensive line coach,” said Sanchez. “Garin Justice is one of the top up-and-coming assistants in the country right now and did a great job building an elite offensive line at FAU.”
In 2016, Justice became the offensive line coach for FAU and he was the only assistant retained by new head Lane Kiffin. The Owls finished last season with an 11-3 record that included a Conference USA championship and Boca Raton Bowl victory. FAU finished ranked sixth nationally in rushing (285.3 YPG) and 12th in fewest quarterback sacks allowed as three of Justice’s linemen were named first team all-league.
Previous to joining FAU, Justice spent five of his seven seasons at Division II Concord University in West Virginia as head coach, compiling a 40-17 overall mark with the Mountain Lions.
A former second team All-America offensive tackle at West Virginia, Justice earned his bachelor’s degree from the school in 2006. He started his coaching career as a student assistant and then a graduate assistant for his alma mater before spending two years on the staff at Florida State in 2007-08.
