With a probable winless Vegas in Nov I say go and schedule 7-8 teams you know you can beat. No Princeton. No road games like Kennesaw. Maybe one high major OOC game. What say y’all?
we should schedule 300 plus next year....need to go 10-1 or 11-0 ooc....vegas will be ugly, only going for the checks.Did everyone hear the sideline reporter report last nite? Said coach told her he wishes he could have changed our non conference schedule knowing that his team wasn’t ready….so expect more NEC and Patriot league opponents at home for 8 of our 11 games next year, and if he can get out of Vegas tourney I’m sure he will. He’ll be looking to pad his record early and get to 18 wins and the NIT anyway possible
He needs to pad his record more for those that still believe he’s a good coach. Scheduling a top 5 team like Kennesaw was crazy difficult.Did everyone hear the sideline reporter report last nite? Pikiell was never in favor of out of conference tournaments at neutral sites because the games would be difficult to win.The chances for Rutgers to win 20 season games were always slim because of the B1G Ten schedule. Strength of schedule now means very little when the objective is to have a winning season and scoring will go down with the departure of Bailey and Harper. You guys are finally seeing the light lol. Tough schedules are actually bad. I mean, they might be good for preparing your team to play. But they are bad for making the actual tournament.
Schedule Vegas, Seton Hall, and 7 auto wins.
lol next year is not about getting to ncaa, its about reestablish indentitymNCAA committee looks at OOC schedule. Can’t play all cupcakes. Man up.
We're not. We're already locked into 2-3 elite teams in Vegas.NCAA committee looks at OOC schedule. Can’t play all cupcakes. Man up.
wrong...for next year its good but poor scheduling is likely to cost Vandy at least one seed line and possibly put them in DaytonYou guys are finally seeing the light lol. Next year’s team will be better than this years teamWith a probable winless Vegas in Nov I say go and schedule 7-8 teams you know you can beat. No Princeton. No road games like Kennesaw. Maybe one high major OOC game. What say y’all?
better yes, relevant noNext year’s team will be better than this years team

Relevant to you and mebetter yes, relevant no
If Pike’s still the coach what does it matter.
Why the insults? I watched almost every home game in person (along with 3 away games). He had a terrible year coaching. I see nothing that will change his ability run an offense, be able to run an effective in bounds play for that matter or most importantly use transfer portal effectively . Would a Kennesaw St type team be one of next year’s 7 auto wins?Hurr durr great post. If it doesn’t matter then **** off loser
In this sport the only thing is making the NCAA Tournamentlol next year is not about getting to ncaa, its about reestablish indentity

There is very little benefit to playing a tough early schedule unless you have a ton of experience. They won’t have that next year so use the early season to get ready for the stretch run.You guys are finally seeing the light lol. Tough schedules are actually bad. That's not happening next yearIn this sport the only thing is making the NCAA Tournament
if we are still here
Good point

I agree with you almost 100% but I do think there is some small bias towards better records as they just look better. But the biggest thing, by far, is to just play well in the games on your schedule.I still haven't heard a reason why 10-1 against OOC #300 is a better resume than 7-4 OOC #50.
Suppose a routine 10-10 in conference.
We're out at 20-11 but in at 17-4?
That's what people are saying?
#300 OOC hasn't been the problem.
The problem has been going 7-4 against the #300 OOC.
You can't have a bad OOC and also lose.
Who thought we couldn't beat Kennesaw at any location? With a probable winless Vegas in Nov I say go and schedule 7-8 teams you know you can beat. No Princeton. No road games like Kennesaw. Maybe one high major OOC game. What say y’all?
What difference would it have made? Team was not good enough to beat any conference team with a pulse.
