I went. RU 5 Colgate 0. Played an extra 20 minutes--all subs-- mostly, if not all, frosh on our part.Anyone go?
Any reports?
This is pretty surprising, as we have almost our entire starting team back, but with Kroeger out of action. Definitely should not struggling to connect at this point.I went. RU 5 Colgate 0. Played an extra 20 minutes--all subs-- mostly, if not all, frosh on our part.
Score looks much better than we played. First 15 or 20 minutes we couldn't connect with a pass--for a bunch of girls who've played together for 3 or 4 years they looked like they never played the game before. Usual suspects hung on to the ball too long & only tried to pass when there was no longer a play[perhaps a bit harsh there, as there was some improvement in that regard].
Mason subbed in & played with a brace on. Kroeger not back yet--we need her in the middle. Starters scored 3 in the first half. Subs got 1 in the second half & 1 in the extra time.
Lot of work to do if this team is going to fare well in the Big & beyond should it get the opportunity.
That worries me about the passing and the holding on to the ball too long as that has been a serious problem for a while now so let’s hope this gets worked out quicklyThis is pretty surprising, as we have almost our entire starting team back, but with Kroeger out of action. Lynch - Mason - Banks - Misal
Brocious - Daigle - Fluchel
Kroeger (Vicari) - Lowrey - Tiernan
Any insight into who will be the starting GK?

Soph Olivia Bodmer started both exhibitions. Quick & agressive from what I've seen. Looks like she will be in net. This is pretty surprising, as we have almost our entire starting team back, but with Kroeger out of action. Definitely should not struggling to connect at this point.

Did the transfer from Georgetown Vicari play? And do any of the freshman look like they might contributeSoph Olivia Bodmer started both exhibitions. Quick & agressive from what I've seen. Looks like she will be in net.
Would like to see Kroeger at center attacking mid. She has a great strike with either foot, is strong on the ball & is unselfish. Position of need. We really miss Frankie T in that regard--she made things work. Also haven't replaced Gabby Provenzano's leadership. Quality of need.
Vicari started & played left wing. Can't really get a handle on the freshmen--no numbers or names on jerseys & don't otherwise know the girls.Did the transfer from Georgetown Vicari play? And do any of the freshman look like they might contribute
Also agree with you on Sam she has to play a more offensive position!!
Well lets see how it goes on Thursday and hopefully Sam will be backVicari started & played left wing. Can't really get a handle on the freshmen--no numbers or names on jerseys & don't otherwise know the girls.
Interesting point about Kroeger at center attacking mid. I really don't know much about soccer strategy, but Sam just screams "wing" to me, as not sure she has the "handle" to be in the middle, plus I feel like you should use her speed on the edge. Moreover, I thought Sara Brocious was superb at the center attacking mid spot last year.Soph Olivia Bodmer started both exhibitions. Quick & agressive from what I've seen. Daigle was & is at attacking mid. One trick pony can only go left & is not strong on the ball. Has a strong left foot but is always looking to shoot from distance.Interesting point about Kroeger at center attacking mid. One of our problems and I have been saying this for I am not sure how many years is we don't use the whole field and especially wings as we rarely take it down the wing and make crosses and if we do for some reason it seems we don't have girls in the middle to finish; also for some reason our girls many many times insist on dribbling into the middle instead of keeping the ball wide; Riley can beat her girl all the time but just watch she'll do that move where she just stops and then tries to dribble into the middle instead of just flat out beating her girl and crossing the ball and anytime you make a cross anything can happenDaigle was & is at attacking mid. Think Brocious was at right mid.
As I posted Sam is unselfish & would distribute from attacking center mid. She can also score with either foot & is strong on the ball. She needs to be in the middle of the action IMO. Plus you have Vicari & Tiernan on the wings.
The other night Tiernan sent a couple of crosses & there was no one there to connect on the end of them. Well lets see how things look Thursday night
Because we always play so defensive that we leave only 2 girls up for years it was Amirah up front on an islandThe other night Tiernan sent a couple of crosses & there was no one there to connect on the end of them. Don't get it.
He hasn't played that way for awhile.Because we always play so defensive that we leave only 2 girls up for years it was Amirah up front on an island
