Except the refs didn’t make that call all game. Like baseball, need a consistent strike zone.
Can you show proof of any player grabbing a shooter’s hip in the act during the game? I doubt there is one so we need to stop saying it because they allowed good physical contact to occur.

This wasn't just physical contact, it gave the defender leverage. Critical to the play and the call.
Yep. And it wasn't just a simple push or slight physical contact. The defender had the shooter's jersey clutched in his left hand as the shooter was going up for the shot, and applied enough force that the jersey significantly creased along the front. Hard to imagine that it couldn't have affected the shooter's balance and/or trajectory... And as you stated, it also gave the defender additional illegal leverage.

We can agree to disagree. We don't have the athletes to compete with the Aztecs right now. All five of their players on the court can defend and rebound - they don't have any weak links on defense and they are deep. There was no drop-off on their second team.

Aztec defense looks elite to me. I don't think we're at their level yet. Hopefully, we'll get there in next year and with the 2024 class - we've got athletes that can shoot, defend and rebound.

With Mag the RU D was just as good

I'm guessing you didn't watch the game? SDSU shot under 38% and 23% from 3. They started the second half 5 for 25. We have some of the worst fans, always loo

I don't buy it. They had 5 mags on the court and went 10 deep. The Aztecs are at a different level. I love our team but we had some defensive liabilities in our starting lineup and there was a definite talent deficit in our second team. Our new class of commits in 2023 and 2024 should address some of the athleticism and shooting issues that we had this year.
