Man is it upsetting after all these years to walk into the building tonight and see that much Wisconsin.

There are many valid complaints to have about this team but maybe it’s time to look a bit inward. I have not seen that many opposing fans in my section in the 100s since 2019. Fans folded faster than the players.

It’s going to get worse.

Next year, there will be a lot of new faces in the 100s. This is the time they’ve been waiting for.

Before this season I never sold conference tickets to a game that I couldn’t make except directly through this board.

I ate or lost out on a lot of $ doing this but was happy to get the tickets in the hands of RU fans and keep opposing fans out of the building.

Family didn’t make it up tonight due to the weather in the southern part of the state and I tried selling my tickets in the 200s to someone on this board the past couple days starting at face and offered all the way down to about 1/2 face value.

Not a single bite.

I reluctantly sold them in SeatGeek and there’s a chance they went to Wisconsin fans.

I try keeping opposing fans out of the building but tickets are too expensive to eat them while rando’s from the 300s who were too cheap to buy better tickets crawl down and sit in my unoccupied seats for free.

The way this team was constructed and is being coached is absolutely disgraceful. I blame Pikiell, but I also blame Hobbs who didn’t do what needed to be done from an NIL perspective for this generational opportunity. This was probably the one time where the big donors and small donors could’ve come together and done something special if a focused NIL drive was organized properly.

If people are apathetic and give up their tickets then so be it.

I understand the ops point but the contract between fans and the school is changing. It’s professional basketball now and it’s less about the school. For Rutgers it’s worse because everyone has alumni in nj ny and pa.

Yep now that players are getting paid I’m more open to selling tickets on the open market.

And to clarify I am currently only doing this when I can’t make a game and there is zero interest from Rutgers fans on this board or people just want the tickets for pennies on the dollar.

RU kicked me out of 118.
RU kicked me out of Green parking.
35 year season tix holder in football, 5+ tickets.
40 year season tix holder in hoops since ‘82.

Nobody should ever complain about RU season ticket holders
Good lord man, thank you for your service.

Ditto for me, last 3 items. Never sold tickets and parking tags. Gave them away to Rutgers fans when I couldn’t use them.

Why did they kick you out of your section? That’s crazy

People are pissed and I don’t blame them. They jacked prices up for this year and the team is not good. I’ll keep showing up but I get why other people would rather make a few bucks back.
Prices went up to try and create revenue for a better product…clearly we aren’t getting one
That said…RU fans are cheap and always looking to make a quick buck anyway they can. There are so many people in the 100s who just sell their tickets every game and no thought considering they go to Opposing fans. Money over achool
Pride.

How do they kick you out? Did they raise prices and donations where you got priced out?
I can’t see the school kicking anyone out of any seats u less they aren’t meeting the expectations.

Opposing fans had nothing to do with the outcome of the game. This is the least of our worries. Who really cares if some of the visiting fans buy tickets.

Guys 118 years ago was an actual section behind the basket, most of the people there were long time fans.

They thanked them by booting them out and replacing the section with a press area.

Curious when all that went down, did you guys get priority seating choice or did they tell you “tough luck, this is the best we have available?”

Clearly the sentiment by many above proves the point

Bro the fans are the last people to blame for this train wreck of a season.

We’ve essentially shut out opposing teams from the RAC for the past 5-6 years, and it was great.

The AD raised the prices of tickets and parking (for good reason) and the team and coaching staff have been $hitting the bed.

But blame the fans!!!

Blaming the fans for the incompetence we see every night is actually hilarious.

Unfortunately many of the fans don’t remember and or were too young when the animal Syracuse / UConn fans would take over the RAC when we were in the BE and when we sucked.

Lord help us if those days ever return !

I find most of the BIg 10 BB fan bases to be generally civil except for Michigan.

I was here watching us play DePaul desperate for one of our only Big East wins on a Wednesday night in January on ESPN360.com with 5 of us in the game thread talking about what flavor cereal we were eating at halftime. Now paying through the roof for the last couple years, stuck in the 300s, and for what. The excitement of an NCAA win during covid when hardly anyone could actually attend, and then a first four game in Dayton heartbreaker in OT. Not our fault

Barely heard from the Wisconsin fans in front of me.

That was not an issue last night.

Missing Free Throws and not having the hot hands shoot was the issue.

That makes sense and I don't remember that---I had season tickets as a student in section 115 in the late 90s so never sat in 118.
I would imagine they would give you the opportunity to move to equal seats by doing that. Something sounds off

Yes fans are last people to blame!!!

That said, ticket prices are not the issue in raising the costs(look at the 99% renewal rate). Its the ability to make money on your tickets. During the BE years so many fans sold out to make a quick buck because they knew we wouldnt win the game and if they can make money then so be it.
Same is true today. If we were winning the less likely people would sell even with inflated prices. Now there are a large subset of people who will sell to recoup costs or make some money but would be less opposing fans in that respect
