As per Sargeant's tweet, RU is investigating whether Flood knew about the illegal actions of the arrested players or if he knew they were being investigated.

Wtf. This is garbage. What earthly reason would flood have to cover this up?

They better get ready to fork over the buyout if they want to fire him.

Does Rutgers have a law firm (or two) on a permanent retainer? Economies of scale in play here. (what a mess)

At this point the Terry Shea era will end up looking like the glory days in a few years.

My opinion is they've been looking for a reason to fire him since the email investigation began.

But WHY? He is cheap and competent.

You know they don't want to.make a more expensive hire, so why exactly do they want him out? Are they hoping to hire the coach of William Paterson for 75 grand and a bus pass?

Who knows? But it was reported on this board (who knows how credible) that Julie didn't want him back last season, but someone ponied up money to pay for his contract/buyout. Maybe she wants her guy? I don't know.

no one was looking to fire him...you don't want a scandal blowing up on your the day before the season starts..to suggest RU would want to fire him right before the season ON PURPOSE is ludicrous

that being said the issue here is did he know the players were under investigation and if so did he tell his higher-ups. I am not going to fathom the idea that he knew the players did something and hid it that is absurd

"Now, university officials are investigating whether Flood can be fired for cause following an announcement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office that five current players have been charged with assaulting a group of individuals in what New Brunswick police called an "unprovoked attack.''
"A member of one of the university's governing boards and a top school official told NJ Advance Media that the Rutgers administration is looking into whether Flood violated multiple violations in the contract he signed upon becoming the Scarlet Knights head coach on Jan. 31, 2012."

I remember that talk and how boosters were supposed to have been contacted about putting up the money to buy Flood out.
Next thing I know, Flood was extended with the funds coming from boosters.o_O

I agree its ludicrous. But everything I'm reading seems like they want him gone. Maybe they wait til next week. But I get the feeling...

This is getting weird - 2 years ago a lot of us wanted flood out, now we want to keep him and the hierarchy is sending out bad vibes . Don't understand the angle , he's the best bargain for a big 10 coach... Maybe Greg is coming back

Yeah, this is really kinda it.

All this talk about bringing back Gary... We couldn't come up with an extra mil a year, two years ago, for Dan Mullen. What are the chances Greg Brown & Friends are gonna cough up the coin to bring back Schiano? Or, better yet... several mil a year for a "name brand"?

Is it?

It's looking clear as day from where I sit.

Administration side leaks

manufactured scandal

no vocal show of support

His AD nowhere to be found over the last 2 weeks and then shows up with the cops and watches as they load up a passenger van full of his players...

mutliple investigations

And oh yeah, they wanted to fire him already once in his tenure.

Who are we kidding? We know how this story ends. Why allow this to implode though? I don't know. But no one, and I mean no one is doing anything to prevent this. Something doesn't past the smell test here

Oh f--k it dudes. Let it burn then.

Wake me up when we crawl out from this hole in a decade or so. My other alma mater has no fooball team but we are the cream of Hockey East and I can still root against Boston College.

Go Terriers.

What the fuk is wrong with this school.

They're going to hire another 750$ per hour firm to investigate whether the investigation was accurate

We need to get to the root of your issues, here. For years you've held up construction of our "hunting compound" with your whining about WV. It's irrational. We're gonna get you some help. Because we care.

We're here for you, man...

I'd rather get got by zombies than "live" in WV...

How much would you like to wager that some NJ.com blogger is putting together a listicle of "Possible Replacements If Kyle Flood Gets Fired" this very minute?

Jean Val Jean can coach the Offense

Simba can coach the defense

Frankie Vallie can coach the specials
