Semi-OT PSU receives QB commit and has #1 recruiting class for 2018

If this continues PSU will play in a NC game in a year or two. They could and will beat OSU & MICHIGAN.
Big Ten vs. SEC (Let's get ready to throw it down baby)..

As for Rutgers........Well we're in the mix, in three or four years.

Joe Moorhead bailed him out. That trick will work for another year and then he'll get a P5 job of his own.

I view it differently. He was self-aware enough to realize that if he continued down the same path as he did with Vandy and PSU then he would be out of a job. As a result, he went out and found what many believed to be a brilliant offensive mind and gave him the keys to the car. Pretty sure that is what any good leader should/would do.

Very hopeful that Moorhead continues to do well at Penn State and also develops someone underneath him. If he continues to do well then he could get some P5 offers as early as next year. That would be fantastic.

Interesting comments. We have UM at home next year and they lose a ton. OSU should be even better.

As for Rutgers, I think you are at least three or four years away from being .500 in the B1G.

@kjb32812 interested to know what you guys think of Zembiec and his future there? Does he fit Moorhead's system? How is his shoulder? I know he was dinged up when he arrived there. It looks like he's getting recruited over. Which is what I expected.

Something is going to have to give. McSorley has two more years to play and it isn't like the NFL is going to be beating down his door. Behind him you have Stevens who has three. Then Zembiec who will have four and Clifford coming in next season. I don't know what is going to happen.

I've posted this on our own board so I'm not afraid to post it here. Zembiec has worse measurables (40 and shuttle) than Hack did. Now I know measurables aren't everything but that makes me think he may not be a good fit. Good position for PSU to be in but I also don't want to see one or more of these kids to get the short end of the stick. It happens though.

To build on this, it's really this simple: You recruit the best QB you can every cycle. Inevitably, some of them will transfer. The cream rises.

The "depth chart" is: McSorley (R-So.), Stevens (R-Fr.), Zembiec (Fr.), Clifford (HS-Sr.), Fields (HS-Jr.). No one knows how things will play out at the position over the next three to five seasons. The only certainty is that one or two of those guys will likely be candidates for a transfer. Could one be Zembiec? Absolutely. He's sort of sandwiched between two guys that fit the offense extremely well and two guys that probably have more natural talent IMO, and are also better fits for the system.

Well he lives right by me. One of the most highly recruited QB's we've had in our area. While watching your offense this year I tried to picture him in it. I dont see it. He would have been a good fit in Babers system

If Rutgers wants to get an good start on recruiting how about offering early. Who was the 8th grader they offered a few years ago. A QB if I recall. At any rate, how about going after 7 or maybe eve

In light of all the nonsense your program has endured you deserve a Rose Bowl appearance. Good luck today!

RU31trap - we all realize that your not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but you just confused the word "endured" with "perpetrated".

Not sure who's the "we all know" in your post but I find what you said to be insulting. I will say what I find disturbing about your posts. Whenever a Penn State poster writes a response or offers an idea, you, like a post-pubiescent child, immediately try to shut them down by tying them and their program to Jerry Sandusky a convicted child molester. I, like many on this site, are beginning to find these responses rather disturbing on multiple levels. So let this dull knife bestow some wisdom onto you. Stop disparaging a Penn State program that resurrected itself in 6 short years and instead focus your efforts on why Rutgers is still irrelevant after 125 plus years. Finally, I would caution you that everything you judge in others may be something within yourself you don't want to face. Now you see what happens when you insult others; dull knives quickly become scalpels.

Way too early to be talking about the number one class.

Yep, and if I had to put money right now on who would end up with the no. 1 2018 class - average/recruit - I'd go with OSU, Alabama, Texas, and possibly Georgia. I'm saying average /recruit because I have no idea how many scholarships each team has to offer. Sure is a solid start for PSU though.

Sorry, you have revealed yourself not to be a Rutgers fan many times over, continually mocking our program. I am not the one hiding behind a false handle. I am the one who is "tying" Penn State to Jerry Sandusky, rather than the fact that he coached there for over 30 years?

RUtrap - you are not only a moron, but one with an agenda. Glad that you feel "insulted". Even the (transparent) Penn State fans who come to this board don't complain about being the victim in the Sandusky cover-up scandal, which is what you are doing.

It is early for 2018 still and I doubt PSU stays at #1 after the big boys (Bama, Ohio St, Michigan, and Texas) start getting commitments. Also, in early recruiting rankings Rutgers has fared well with lots of early verbals. 14 months is a long time until signing day.
Wouldn't this praise be something that belongs more on BWI then Scarlet Nation, since it seems the main point of it was about Penn St with Rutgers thrown like an afterthought

Why on EARTH is this a thread here on OUR boards? Who the f* cares?
I'm with you Nuts and every other RU fan on Scarlet Nation that are tired of people starting threads about Penn St.
Shame that Rutgers fans have to endure seeing so many threads started about Penn St.
Here's something for all the posters who want to discuss Penn St to get their Nit fix
( most Nits posting in threads like this don't get me mad, it's about their school and I expect them to take part in discussions that are Nit related.Just don't like to see as many Nit related threads started and very few are started by BWI members)
