Big issue here is 2025 max 105 roster, playing time after bowl game “development” you have a pretty decent idea where you are against others. Offensive linemen always the hardest to predict and longest too develop equals a very good O lineman may not see the field much until yr 3, also the H.S 300 lbs ers need to lose weight and rebuild with muscle. Would guess not many of these guys see significant NIL coming out of the portal. To a point the less bodies you have the more revenue dollars per player.
That's what I thought. Of course i have no information as to whether or not he wants to come back for another season.

That's one hell of an assumption that they were released. More than likely they didn't see playing time in their immediate future or there wasn't a culture fit or they were recruited over with the incoming freshman or transfers. You really seem nowadays to try to find anything negative to bash the program, don't you?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think a scholarship player can be cut except for cause. Particularly after 1 semester. You probably can take NIL money away and let the kid know that playing time in the future is highly unlikely. But I don't think outright cut.
Heard the Luman brothers were not a cultural fit French Canadians who spoke French all the time while here, hard to make friends if you don’t speak the language of everyone around you or choose not to speak the language
Check again. Zilinkas played 6 games in 2021 and 4 games in 2022. The last 2 years (2023 & 2024), Zilinkas played all 13 games each season. He is eligible for another year because 2022 can be considered a red-shirt season.

Good catch. Didn’t realize in his sophomore Year he played in the 1st game vs. Wagner and then missed 2 months and returned for the last 3 games. Perhaps was injured. Hope he returns for 2025.
Technically correct. Scholarships can only be cancelled/not renewed for non-athletic reasons. Doesn’t stop you from forcing people out under threat of no playing time/support from staff.

I mean…isn’t that something you sort of need to work out BEFORE you come? Or as a staff evaluate and say something? Wasted everyone’s time
Actually the Schiano and culture posts seem more apt than ever.
While playoffs teams have contributing players jumping ship before their games, GS secured a full season commitment from almost everyone, before inevitably having a host of deep backups and non scholarship players join the portal after the season was completely over.

Twisting facts. Every team is going to have a large number of players in the portal because of the hard cap of 105 players. Even with the amount of Rutgers players in the portal, Rutgers still has to shed another 20+ players to get to the 105 number by the first game of the season. You'll see many of the players in the portal go down a level as the total amount of available scholarships aren't there to match up. Better to go now before teams at the FCS and D2 level run out of available scholarships.
Don't know what any transfer has to do with culture. It's the natural sorting out process of upgrading the roster and some players seeking more playing time.
