While sitting here sipping coffee waiting anxiously for college FB camp to start (while not wishing summer away), it got me thinking what SHI will look like in 10-15 years. Here are my thoughts, in no particular order:

1. Seat backs for all bleachers (or replaced with actual stadium seats, absent of the student section)
2. Luxury boxes on west side
3. Aisle removed in between rows 10 and 11 to allow for more seats
4. End zone opposite students moved closer to field with seats
5. Outside brick façade classing the place up
6. Upper deck above end zone section opposite students
7. Total capacity - 62/65k

Any other thoughts / ideas

1) NO THANK YOU...ever try to walk through those aisles??? Ooooof!
2) 100%
3) as someone who has sat in Row 11, for 20 years, I say "NO, thank you!"
4) not gonna happen; that's a HUGE project
5) YES PLEASE!
6) the deck will be over the student section; it was built ready for it (decking the north end zone is another HUGE project)
7) DEATH STAR

This on #6. The footings are already in place.

Same as today but with sun bleached out turf.

When Purdue renovated and dramatically reduced the capacity of Ross-Ade Stadium, it brought back the true home advantage, because the giant endzone bleachers in a stadium that is otherwise a horseshoe were only being filled with 20,000 Visiting fans.

Now that end has minuscule bleachers and is being planned for some kind of fieldhouse/office/luxury suite zone

Take a good look at it NOW, you wont be able to see the Stadium because it will be jam packed with an overflow of people.

I have season tickets for FB MBB and Wrestling but the truth is moreso for football the TV experience is so good there's no need to come to the stadium on Saturdays. Takes up a full day pretty much unless you cut it tight on both ends. Need to give people a first class experience to want to come in person. That means more premium seating. More comfortable general seating. Etc.

Better food too and working bathrooms.

Ah, the good old days back in the '70's when we had wooden bench seats, men's room with troughs and A concession stand (I think). The corners of the end zones were some sort of rough brush.
Come a Looooooong way baby.

I see covered sections in the upper deck and the student section being taken out and the hill being brought back in. Students back into a corner of the stadium. Once Schiano is gone, so are more spectators. If the stadium can't be sold out every game, why expand?

Absolutely no reason to increase capacity. Could this change 5 years from now? Of course.

They will never reduce capacity. Never.

What they will probably do, especially once the team starts becoming successful and the crowds start growing, is redo the press box to put in a much more up-to-date press box AND to build in luxury boxes, which will be a cash cow.

The next 2 items on the list may happen within 15 years: 1) rebuilding the North Endzone so it mimics the South Endzone and is closer to the field - I've heard that will add ~2000 seats; 2) building an upper deck over the South Endzone - I can't recall if that's supposed to add 6K or 8K.

Never is a strong word. Most places are decreasing seating in favor of wider seats or more premium seating options. I fully expect more premium seating areas to become available, even if it's at the expense of regular seats. See section 118 for basketball...

The thing is- we currently have a low capacity. It isn’t like we could reduce fro 65k to 55k

if…we win, we will have more need. Add those seats above the student section, luxury seats and upgrade. Call it a day with a 58-60k stadium that sits on top of the field

Lol. We can’t even sell out the existing stadium. Best case scenario is club seats on the west side and maybe sections of regular seats on the 50 yard lines. I doubt we will ever see regrading North end zone or a 2nd deck over the South end zone.

More luxury boxes will come within the next 5 years. It was one of the top recommendations from the revenue study and we’ve heard Hobbs publicly stat it several times.

the capacity increase question…. The team would have to sustain success over several (4+) seasons and elevate + establish as an upper tier program (ala MSU) . If that were to happen and change the fan culture at Rutgers. Then the student population and alumni population would almost certainly dictate an increase in seating.

The two 50 yardline sections (126 and 105) should definitely be regular chairbacks at a minimum, if not with cushions and cup holders... Time to add more modern amenities to improve fan experience. And I'm in 127.

The other thing about significantly improving the 50 yd line seats is the chance for upsells...

How about some additional bathrooms and concession areas. Maybe someday we can finally widen the surrounding concourse and put in escalators to the mezzanine sections.

Of course we can't. From 2016-2019 we went 9-39 under Ash, and currently the last 2 years we've gone 8-14 under Schiano.

I don't.
We will have to agree to disagree. We couldn’t even sell out with Schiano back post Covid. Outside of another Louisville game (which doesn’t look like it would happen in the B1G) and declining attendance in college football (even in the SEC), I really don’t see the need to expand.

I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic here. That was already done with the last expansion. Seems like you are talking about the RAC more than the football stadium.

This is pure fantasy
