Was talking to a friend over the weekend who had an interesting take. He said that if he were Hobbs he’d make a move to replace the women’s soccer coach at the end of the season. He said yes he understands that the program is prob the most successful one at RU, but he thinks there’s a window right now to make RU a perennial top 5 program. How? Make Carli Lloyd the head coach. He said that move would basically make RU a recruiting juggernaut - opening up our footprint beyond NJ and PDA.
I’m not a big women’s soccer person, but I have to say it doesn’t seem like a terrible idea. He mentioned that Carli has expressed interest in coaching at the collegiate level and that she won’t be available for long.
Would you make that move?
