I'm going to grace High Point with my presence on the night of October 8th where I'm sure you all will greet me with open arms and a friendly embrace.

Anyway, I'm going to the Rutgers and Michigan State road games and was looking into tickets for Michigan State and Rutgers single game tickets since Stubhub prices are ridiculous. Michigan State and Michigan each have on sale dates listed on their websites for single game tickets (home games only for Michigan) but when I was looking around Rutgers site there's no sign of a date, only a popup when you click single game tickets saying single game tickets aren't available.

You guys might know just as much as me when they're available this year but figured if anyone knew they'd be here.

Thanks.

Sometime after July 22, assuming there are any left. Call our ticket office?

Is it common for there not to be any left for a game like this? I mean I'm going no matter what as I already got the hotels booked and a few NY stops planned as I've never been further east than OH and want to see the sights.. Just figured I could save a pretty penny buying directly.

Hail:

The way our ticket are sold are

Phase 1: Season Tickets Sold
Phanse 2: Partial Plans Sold
Phase 3: SIngle Tickets made available to Season Ticket in Priority point order
Phase 4: Partial Plan Holder offered Single Game Tickets in Priority Point Order.
Phase 5: General Public Tickets (Dynamic Pricing Model)

I expect very little to be left to the general public for games like Michigan and Penn State. Whatever is left after than go to the general public with Dynamic Pricing. It is very likely that the Michigan game tickets will almost all be $125.00 face value or more in dynamic pricing.

That seems much higher than I expected. I was thinking 75 bucks for the cheapest face value tickets for that game. Should I just grab these 90-100 dollar tickets from Stubhub then?

I am Basing this on Last Year's left over tickets for Ohio State which were all over $100.00 face value because of the dynamic pricing model.

Face Value on our tickets (regular seating) are $55 and $45 i think. For the real big games (read Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State) that number doubles as the available box office tickets drops. Rutgers does this in a way to match after market prices to encourage people to buy from them directly, but also so they can get market value on the ticket.

If you decide to get an after market ticket, I would Recommend TixCity who is Rutgers Official Secondary Ticket Partner. They have a presence on game day should something go wrong with your ticket.

Thanks for your help. I'll see you guys in row 2, section 217. Just don't punch me.
Nobody is going to punch you, unless you incite them. Our fans are quite hospitable. Out of the visiting fans, PSU and Wisconsin fans have been the most punchable, and even with them, don't recall any incidents or fights. Walk around the Blue Lot and the Yellow Lot tailgating areas and make some Rutgers friends.

I expected Penn State fans to be total dicks - i mean they are now trying to petition to have a statue put up of a man who hid knowledge of abuse and rape - but the Wisconsin fans were surprisingly disgusting.

Had a great time w a few michigan fans last time around. I will say unfortunately your coach has incited the wrath of college football fans around the country and specifically NJ but hopefully it wont amount to too much anger.

You should have a great trip. RU tailgaiting scene is very friendly towards anyone not from penn state and is wildly underrated.

BTW - if your not a prick, you will be treated fine.

Despite popular Belief on this board the vast majority of Penn State Fans are very likeable people as a whole and were very respectful.

When our group went their last season, we felt like ashamed at the way our fan base treated them compared to how we were treated.

All we got was "Welcome to Happy Valley" and "Good Luck", and "Enjoy the Tailgating.

All They got Was a Big F-U from the vast majority of our fanbase.

Eveyplace I have been except for USF and UCONN was I treated with nothing but respect by the hosting fans. Rutgers would do well to leave the message Board Vitriol at homea and be hospitable and welcoming to other fan bases

I'm sure if you guys beat them a few years in a row or dominated a decade, that would change to be fair. Michigan fans used to mostly be nice to Michigan State fans prior to 08 or so. Now that's a semi-hostile environment both ways.

Bull sheet

I was part of your group, and there was plenty of aholes at Happy Valley. The older people were nice, but roughly a quarter of the fanbase under 30 was a wannabe tough guy. Standing in line at the ice cream shop next to the dorms my wife & I were the recipients of a 20 person chant of "F Jersey". In that mess trying to squeeze into the stadium there were physical threats & an asshole chant. Also, on the way out of the stadium, some gentleman from Scranton tried to arrange a deal where we would exchange fellatio for food/beer/shelter. Not sure which one of us was to provide our end of the deal.

Penn state is no place for a Rutgers fan to wander around campus unless they're part of a large group.

Agree 100%. I was treated very well and was welcomed by many fans to join their tailgate for a drink. I try to return the favor to every visiting fan I meet. My feeling is that Jersey is just more aggressive (good and bad). If you're a PSU fan living in NJ you're no different than a RU fan living here. It's really a central PA vs NJ thing. Different culture.

I didn't witness any of that. at all.

My only issue was with the one Jerk in the seating bowl.
But after a while I let that one go and calmed down because there are always that small group who are an exception to the rule.

You have not seen bad, vile odious fans until you've met LSU fans...I'm guessing. State penn fans are maybe not as mean but probably more condescending...lsu though, the worst...

That sucks I was parked next to the RV lot with the wife and we tailgated for 4 hours and met a lot of nice people many of them from NJ. I was very impressed by their tailgate setup and sea of RV's. That was the best away game for me so far while in the BIG as far as before and after the game. The fans were loud and the atmosphere was second to none. All of their fans where in their seats 20 min prior to kickoff unlike our fans. Only thing that sucked was the game and our seat locations.

Hail Hail: I went to the Rutgers/Mich. game last year at the Big House, and can honestly say that I could not have been treated any better by the locals. Even though I wore my RU sweatshirt to the pubs the night before, I was welcomed and had beers bought for me. The ushers in the stadium were polite and asked me to please return in future years. Caveat: I was told, however, that if I had worn Spartan green, my reception would have been much different.

I hope we can reciprocate and make your trip enjoyable, except for the final score (and don't wear Harbaugh khakis).

After reading about such congenial behavior by fan bases--professional and college fans--anyone who favors MORE BOOZE at football games needs a psychiatrist. Sorry but the revenue argument is a joke. There are plenty of ways to create revenue without controversy--and with little to no risk.

Well there goes my plan to show up like this:

I was on the same bus trip as @RUJohnny99 & @demauroj . While the majority of the psu fans I encountered were nice, including the people tailgating all around us, there were certainly the obnoxious comments from younger fans as I walked through the tailgating lots and a lot of yelping from them in the stands (including a lovely little song to send us off when we were leaving the stands to head home). The kid who ran through out tailgate and stole our RU flag was not a net positive in our day either. Overall though, I've checked that stadium off of my list and won't soon return, especially if we have to walk through that clusterf**k getting into the stadium.

MrScrew, @demauroj @RutgersRaRa & I went out to the Big House for the game last year as well. Not one person treated us poorly there. We had a great time (and even greater seats in the indoor club seats). Except for the guy sitting in front of us who told us no less than 10 times during the game that Michigan was getting 7 NJ recruits this year, we had a great time. RU should take lessons from MU on how to direct car and pedestrian traffic around the stadium and in the lots on game day. They have it perfected.
