That’s not true – – the clock was changed from 3.5 seconds to 3.1 seconds for the second inbounds. The call was correct. Clock never ran..hence the play never happened.
Big break for Seton Hall but correct call.

Clock went from 3.9 to 3.5. The sideline official blew the whistle after the ball was tipped. The refs blew it. I think they used the clock as an excuse.
That’s the real story. Down by 12 and played great defense down the stretch to get back in it.It was a blown call that was resolved the only way it reasonably could be.
SHU finished stronger than St John’s. It’s a solid win for them.
The clock doesn't start until someone touechs the ball. It started when it was deflected. The refs screwed up.The call was correct. Clock never ran..hence the play never happened.

If that’s the case I apologize. Announcers said the reason was the clock never began
SJU took about 3 jumpers within 10 seconds of the shot clock up 8 to 10 with about 8 minutes left. I am not a proponent of milking the clock but once it got to 6 and then 4, they started milking the clock, as if they were up 10.
Mullin is horrific and his bench coaches aren't any better. That's as talented a Top 7 he will ever have, yet doesn't use his bench.
All in all, if SHU made some layups earlier in the game, it could have never come down to the end. I think these 2 might be in the Top 4 of the Big East, but i would have liked to have seen who had the arrow on the alternate possession. If you called a jump ball on the missed call and it was SJU ball, at least give them a chance to inbound the ball and let SHU foul them.
Poorly coached teams usually don't get sympathy from fans but twitter is on fire tonight with complaints about that call. Rarely do you see calls clearly change a game's result but this was as bad as I can recall with a blown call under 5 seconds.
SHU lost a National Championship on a bogus call so I guess this is recompense.
Coming into final minute SJU is 94%from the line. They then miss the front end of two consecutive one and ones. That’s what cost them the game.
Yeah right! Look, SJU blew the lead with the way they played the last ten minutes, no one is suggesting otherwise. But the kid made a great play on the inbounds, deflected the pass, then was able to get the ball while in the air and got it to one of his players. He made a great play to save the game and the official blew it. You got lucky. Take the win, you had a great comeback but SJU got robbed.

My Nova fans and friends also state that Josh Hart lost part of his limbs getting fouled at the BE tournament SHU won a couple of years ago....and yeah they're still bitter about that non-call even after winning 2 titles in 3 years.

Just to be clear the clock did not start. It stayed at 3.5 seconds. The refs reset it to 3.1 after the play. They had no choice to stop the play and award us the ball. Lucky yes but the correct call.
3.9 to 3.5....the clock did move nonetheless, if the roles were reversed, i seriously doubt the comments would be the same about some of these items like creating your own luck, missed FTs etc...every team that is in a close game makes mistakes, otherwise the game wouldn't be close.
Unfortunately, this overshadows a walk-on outplaying others like Jordan Walker at PG last year in practice and earning a scholarship for this season, in Shavar Reynolds.....a player no one figured would see this many minutes in crunch time, who played plus defense.
The lesson learned or what's been known for the last 4 seasons since Mullin arrived....he's not a good coach, his staff is inept and it's very easy to create depth and roles for players 8 and 9 on the roster, with as many talented players/scorers. There's no possible way St John's will win the Big East tournament playing 7 players over 3 days.

Dude, you make your own luck. Surprised you don’t know that.
A fortune. How much did you have to pay the officials for that kind of luck.
