Sorry but when any Rutgers team is ranked in the top 5 nationally in anything, that should never be OT :smiley:
I couple of follow-ups. 3 of top 5 are B1G - catching up to the ACC? Also, the women's team got votes and are #24 right now! Good stuff all around.
It is amazing how B1G LAX went from not existing to one of the best if not the best league in the country in such a short time. Amazing!
We were suppose to play ranked Princeton next on Tuesday, that game has been reschedule for teh next day. If Rutgers beats yet another ranked school, we can move up even more!

JHU has 2 losses now? I know they lost badly to PU, who else did they lose to

More like caught up. The B1G is only getting better too. It was only a matter of time.
Towson beat them this weekend pretty good. They are having a serious issues on faceofffs and groundballs. The latter is an area where we have been dominating in, which is huge with the style we play. Between that and creating turnovers, with our offense starting to pour it on, not too many teams are looking forward to playing us.
Think about this for a second- we lost 2 of our three or four top players right before the season started. This program is being built for the long haul.
I know that we still trail badly in the two sports most follow, but we do have some very good programs in the minor sports. At least we don't look so bad in everything.
Hopkins lost to rival Towson. They are overrated IMO...shaky goaltending and faceoffs. Bet we make it 3 in a row vs the Jays.
What's this supposed to mean?:confused: You do know we beat two ranked teams already, right. One of them we utterly destroyed. Fact is, psu is ranked higher and hasn't played anyone of note yet.

That's crazy. I was thinking just the other day how much better this team would be with Charalambides and Trasolini healthy and playing. They would be scary good.

And we are 7-2 against our last 9 ranked opponents.
And the 2 losses happened to 1 team...Maryland. Don't think for a minute we don't have Easter night circled on our calendar.
We are better and faster at every phase of the game.

15 players have scored..including 2 Fr & 4 sophs...one Freshman Kieren Mullins leads the team
-7 players have double digit G/A pts
-3 on D including two long sticks have scored
Our goalie EDELLMANN has the fastest outlet pass after a save ive ever seen
Our D just shuts down anyone who cuts or takes a shot,,,we are 4 deep in quality long poles!
Or faceoff guy Francisco won the 1st 12 FOs vs #14 Stony Brook
Games are a pleasure to watch.....I dont think we have even reached our potential yet
our big gun Henningburg hasnt even had to step up for a win

I just remember as a kid going up to the Carrier Dome for RU FB and seeing all those lacrosse banners for Cuse in the rafters and thinking man, I wish we could become so good at a sport like that. I never thought I'd see the day when Rutgers was ranked ahead of them, and not because Cuse fell off to like out of the rankings. But because we are ahead. Like the day when we are ranked higher than Alabama in football (it will come too). Very cool things happening for LAX right now - I wish they had more home games but the last 3 are tomorrow (snowy roads), Easter night, and smack in the middle of Rutgers Day at noon.
There are a few easy road games to make...Delaware and Hopkins coming up.
Love to see us finish ranked ahead of Syracuse. When I was at Cortland, guys told of Jimmy Brown & Syr. playing us a few yrs. before & Jimmy running down the field with guys bouncing off of him. It has been reported that Lacosse was his best sport.
at NJIT should be no problem. The game is actually in Madison at Drew, not in Newark. NJIT is renovating it facility.
Are any of the games televised?
Will they be playing tomorrow's game in the bubble or the stadium?

I wonder if/when we get to the point where the lower level OOC games all end up being at home like in BB?

That doesn't happen too often. Though it's becoming more more professionalized, it isn't at the point where the big guys are muscling the little guys. Yet.
The Princeton game was to be on BTN but due to the weather move it got relegated to BTN2GO.
Hopkins will be on one of the ESPN channels and others are on BTN.
Yeah, wasn't sure that was the case. But as you say...yet, I could maybe see it down the road.
Having three teams ranked among the national top-5 for one week in the history of your league means nothing. If Big Ten lacrosse truly wants respect, teams other than Maryland and Hopkins need to start winning the league and NCAA tournament games on a consistent basis.
Of course it means something. It's big time. Having 3 teams in the top 5 is part of the process getting teams in the tournament and winning games. Duh. No other conference has had 3 teams in the top 5 outside of the Acc. It's huge.
How are our debate and chess teams doing? Maybe we can talk them up also.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No, it only means something if it translates into tournament runs. Get two into Memorial Day weekend, for example. It's nice, but it's still just rankings. Ask some basketball seeds what rankings mean.
I spend all basketball season saying polls don't mean squat. I can't change that belief because they are good to us in something.
And yes, it's still nice to get recognition. But a first-round exit would pretty much negate all of it.
