So much good press that could be gone with a loss. A chance to steal a winnable game on the road. A two round bye in the Big Ten tournament..I hope we don’t blow it.

The good press won't be gone with a loss. Stop being a drama queen
Oh please. Stop acting like you’re the only fan who doesn’t feel the way I do. You who melt down during the first eight minutes of a game if we are not playing well.

Yeah this is a bit dramatic. A win would be awesome and I’ll be a crazy fan during the game, but we’re gonna lose some more conference games this year. It’s about the body of work.

Winning is tremendous

Losing does not ruin or kill anything
Better to maintain momentum.
I thought it was house money too but changed my mind. People think it’s a fluke we are in the Top 25. “Oh they got in and couldn’t handle it.”
Let’s handle it.

Losing to #19 on the road is not a bad loss..yes if we lose by 20

We will lose games this year. Iowa is very good. This board has been guilty of downplaying how good they are

I hope we win because we can win tonight but it will take an A game

Road losses against a top half of the conference team are acceptable. Win at home and beat the bottom half on the road and you guys are solid.

Just don't win tonight:Sly:

Winnable game but we are expected to lose. Disappointing but not really that big of a deal if we lose.

Well shoot, it’s ok to have the jitters but you do realize this league is insanely good...hell, even MSU got walloped on the road.

Even if we lose big so what? Unless you truly believe we are built on smoke and mirrors relax, OP.

Because we’re not. At this point barring some bizarre bitch slap back to an alternate reality, this team is good enough to win many more games.

So the way I look at it is the rest of the season is being played with house money! Why? Because not one poster on these boards would’ve ever thought back in November we’d be playing as a ranked team on the road against against a ranked Iowa with a 14-4 record! Or that we’d go 2-1 without Geo. Or that JY ALMOST had us a road win against Illinois....and on and on....

As a fanbase we are not there yet mentally.

If we start believing we should win all the time , please don’t stop us. A lot of the old-timers don’t know what it’s like to win, don’t bring down the group who goes into every game expecting to win. That’s how program expectations explode and stay high

Now Penn State won on the road. Still think this is a house money game?

Why would Penn State winning matter to our game. You are off the deep end drama queen.

We are playing on the road against a team ranked higher than us. We are supposed to lose tonight. If we should somehow find a way to win, it will be a huge win.

We are up at the half. If we do end up losing I cannot see how we somehow fall from grace. Losing to a higher ranked team on their court is hardly a disaster.

At this point anything less than a win will be a big dissapointment. TRUTH

there was no shame in losing tonight against a really good Iowa team
Agree with the no shame comment. But if we were a “normal” program - in other words, every once in a while making the dance -this wouldn’t sting so much. I know that we have the talent and the coaching to get there, but we are Rutgers.

Dwelling on what happened in the past prior to the build and progression that Pike has implemented is a pointless exercise. The core of this roster is full of Sophomores and we appear to be ahead of schedule in the progression.

It’s called perspective. A trip to the NCAA this year means that everything has changed. So I want to grab wins when we cAn.
