So when's the next time we'll hear news on recruits?

The only thing to count on is that news will unfold in a manner that is different from the past - it might be frustrating for all with a huge appetite for trickles of info prior to an announcement

One thing is certain: news will not be coming within a time frame that is considered reasonable by message board critics.

You will also hear about recruiting when a recruit announces his decision.

Example, Henry Miller is expected to announce 12/18 at 7pm.

Believe it is between Rutgers, N C State and Pitt.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Jordan Johnson is a 62% lean Rutgers OL 6'3 275 3 stars recruit with most recent predictions to Rutger on 247 sports. This will offset OL Morgan 2 star that defected to a Pitt.
Morgan weighs 300 pounds which is the size linemen are needed to play in the B1G.His talent level can be questioned just like many other Rutgers recruits for this season.

Recruiting by our New staff will go after known kids who are still not committed, example Jordan Fuller over Campbell, Johnson over Morgan.
As each de-commit occurs be happy that our new staff have an opportunity to go after talent who fits into the projected scheme of theirs' vision not the old staff's view.

Are there Pitt fans that didn't go to pitt?

I wouldn't hold my breath until the dead period is over and then it will be all guns blazing until signing day.

BS that was Flood idea to start recruiting 330-360 2 stars recruits and getting them to lose 30 pounds after 2 years. Most colleges recruit them around 275-290 and add 20 pounds.

Ash wasn't a "wow" hire like a Harbaugh or Richt. Kids want to know who their coordinators and position coaches will be.

I believe there are because I see some wearing Steeler's/Penguins/Pirates shirts.

I think Pittsburgh residents (non Pitt alums) will attend sporting events of teams that win.

Example, when the Pirates were losing they had trouble getting 15,000 fans per game.
When they started winning in the last several years they started averaging around 30,000 fans per game.(Actual numbers can be found on Google).

Since Pitt went 8-4 this year our attendance has gone up.

Pittsburghers will back a team that wins.

Probably the biggest evidence I can give in this regard is our Bowl attendance numbers (not great in some past bowls).

However (check Pitt Board), Pitt has already sold over 8,000 tickets (to date) for the Military Bowl on 12/28 and have requested additional ticket allotments.

Win and they will come.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Most college coaches watch feet and worry about weight when they past the quick feet test

No, but there are Pitt alum who aren't Pitt fans... I work with one. He's a fan of Texas because he happened to live there.

You will also get some alums who have undergrad and grad degrees from different Universities.

Many will usually pick one school as their primary sports program (usually where they attended undergrad unless their grad school degree was from a major sports school).

Some alums go to school strictly for Academics and really don't care much about or follow the sports programs.

I'm sure Rutgers have a number of these Alums. You probably know some yourself.

Kareem Walker is re-announcing this week... We can watch another one go to Michigan...pretty sure that will be the 6th Jersey kid going there... what a joke these kids go there and dont play together home in front of family and friends and their people...
Talk about real trail blazers and pioneers

And speaking of Michigan, jh made recruiting coordinator Chris Partridge interim LB coach so he can now go on the road to recruit, maybe something we should have done with Barthel?

C'mon Rob, there's no shame in going to Michigan.

I bleed scarlet, but if my son were old enough and was blessed to be a D1 scholarship athlete I wouldn't have a problem with him going there.

Now if we're talking Tennessee.... o_O:eek::confused:

I would say this would be a "+" in the trade department.

I wonder how many recruits from states we've never recruited before, will start showing up on our data search? Also, how many coaches still need to be added? I'm thinking at least 5 more, depending on what Ash does with the 2 holdovers from Flood's staff.

Hearing Rivals 4 - Star recruit George Hill (Hubbard, Ohio) expected to announce tomorrow at 2 pm.

Looks like a great get.

Down to Nebraska, Michigan State, Wisconsin, WVU and Pitt.

Why would you post this on a Rutgers board? I mean you guys won't get him anyways but are you dumb or something?

Fun facts if you're a Pitt fan. Did you know Pitt players hold the following visiting team records at Rutgers Stadium/HPSS

Passing Yards, Receiving Yards, Passing Attempts, Completions, and Longest Pass.

BOO to Pitt lol.

Flood and staff just saw a raw kid that was over powering others with strength in camp.

I guess hiring new coaches will be the only news going forward until the dead period is over.

1) good; hiring the right coaches is 100x more important right now

2) so long as we don't here "he's a hidden gem" ""he's under-the-radar" or "Flood is one of the best talent evaluators in the nation,' every time a kid commits to us, I'll be happy...

3) don't worry about this class. If we can get a couple of flips, or late commits from kids with a lot of offers, be very happy. Think 2017.

I love the fact Coach Ash is looking at coaches from P5, successful programs. There was a point when I would have been good with an up and coming HC from a mid major who had a great winning record. Now, seeing and hearing Coach Ash talk, and seeing who he's going after for the staff,I love it. I believe he will be better than Greg was, with more money to hire, and a more established program than Greg had. I'm thinking great things on the horizon, and I'm glad the powers that be, didn't let the program slip any further under Flood.

In January when he's done collecting his 2nd paycheck for coaching the bowl game for OSU. Rediculous.

Totally disagree. There will always be kids who want to get out of NJ and go elsewhere, no different than FL kids or any other state for that matter who want to come to RU or any other school. I disagree that its a joke, its a choice they each make and the reasons are very varied. I dont hold any ill will against a kid who wants to go out of state, just like I welcome kids who come from other states. I grew up in NJ and had offers and interest from schools all over the country but chose to attend RU because I wanted to compete close to home so my family would be able to watch me run. Other kids may want to get away from friends and family for various reasons.
