With Hamilton injured and not on the field, and Caroo suspended, we only have 1 left. Guess we need another 1 or 2 Captains?

Pretty sure we have two left (Gause and James), although Hamilton can still be a force for good on the sidelines and in the locker room.

Hamilton has been acting like a captain from what I can tell. I was especially pleased when he was in an offense-only huddle last game towards the end of the 1st half. Couldn't tell if he was talking or not, but he was the only defensive player in there. That's what a captain does.

Noticed that too, and when I said something out loud in my section, some guys were laughing at me saying I was wrong. Alas.

And conversely Carroo has NOT been acting like a captain this season.

No reason DH can't handle all of his "captainly" duties other than those while he's actually involved in plays. LC, on the other hand, has to lose the "c" IMHO.

I was thinking since James on the field for less than half the players, who makes the penalty call on Offense when Hicks or Martin are at RB?

Not always. Sometimes in complex situations where the choice isn't a no brainier the ref explains the down/distance and LOS implications to the Captain, another member of the officiating crew on the Sideline is also explaining the call w the HC after conferring w the Ref.
The referee looks to the sideline.
