Some Posters Seem to Be Enjoying This . . . .

No one is enjoying this. We lost our best player

Personally, I was 100% behind Flood from day 1 until today. He has lost control of the program. Purge what is wrong here and use this year to rebuild it back. At least this happened early in the season so we have time to recover rather than coinciding with a late season collapse or something of the sort.

This isn't an enjoyable situation. If it genuinely comes together the way it looks like it's coming together, we have SERIOUS problems ahead of us. The media is going to have a field day, this will be a national story and we're going to have to do more than just rename a friggin' building.

How anyone is defending Flood at this point is unconscionable. What does he bring to this program that any schmo could not? He has no discipline on or off the field.

The Flood defenders need to decide, do they root for RU or for Flood, because right now he has made it so we are synonymous with both thuggery and mediocrity on the field at best.

Agreed, but there are 2 or 3 posters in particular who are practically dancing in the streets over this. And SB Crumb, I am talking about posters wishing for bad things to happen. . . .

Piling on Flood. Enjoy yourselves and stay classy. You reap what you sow.

What do you expect people to do right now? I know we've got to hear the facts first - no doubt - but the last thing ANY of us want is for this program to implode, it's maddening, depressing, and a whole host of other emotions. That being said, whether you like it or not, right or wrong, this IS Flood's program, good, bad, or flat-out ugly.

Wish for what? What could be worse? TTFP or the Baylor basketball player killing someone or Aaron Hernandez because otherwise I can't really see what could be worse.

It is in fact the positoids that reaped this, Flood is a family man, man of integrity, and those that whined about Schiano being a micromanager. Guess what, micromanaging works when dealing with 18-22 year olds, and letting them do whatever they please, not so much.

Really? Where are people "wishing for bad things to happen"?

Did Carroo get arrested? If this was amount Rutgers fans or players, I would think no charged would be pressed and this could have been swiped under the rug.

I think he means Flood being fired. A few people still think Flood deserves to be HC. On what grounds I would love to know.

Honestly, you can go suck an egg. I defended the man up until last night. Hell, I owe @RU5781 an apology for defending the man so much over the last two weeks. And this idiot (Flood) makes me personally feel like an @$$hole. It's not even the fact that he is an incompetent coach in WAAAAAY over his head. He is destroying our university's reputation. The man needs a police escort out STAT.

First, I am not defending Flood at all here. I am just making an observation that it does not take long for the sharks to circle when there is blood in the water. And some of them seem f#cking giddy over today's news. I am well aware that this is Flood's program.

There are so many conflicting rumors swirling right now, it would be prudent to wait for the police reports to determine what actually happened. But to revel in any of this before the facts are out, which can only come out through the police investigation, is not wise. But it's a free board, and anyone who wants to cry the sky is falling and fiddle while the Hale center burns is welcome to do so.

I really hope THAT isn't what he means. Like it, or not, coaches get fired. Now obviously we've got to hear all the facts, however, it would be hard to defend Julie IF she were to let Flood go at this point (or at season's end). If fans want Flood fired, well, that IS their right, as fans with opinions, to express. Not a big deal and certainly far from being a "bad" thing.

Agree. I could take crap from friends about losing games, but this, this is just absurd

Guilty as charged Your Honor. Flood, the coach who never should have been hired in the first place, needs to go now! His email escapade, his questionable coaching decisions, his lackluster recruiting and his complete loss of control of the team has set RU football back decades.

I don't blame KF for what is happening off the field, the kids are on their watch off the field, they need to own it. But I don't like the body of work on the field, it has been average at best, with questionable choices, and I believe most of us want better than average

Blood in the water? We have 7 arrests in a former squeaky clean program, one if true for punching a woman, and the team looked awful against an awful team, and Flood is under university investigation for improperly emailing a professor....it's over. It is over for Flood.

If we beat TTFP, which seems super unlikely, it's likely still over.

I doubt I am the only one who is sick of hearing from friends and colleagues about the thugs in our program on top of losing, but you know who I bet are really sick of it? The BOG, Julie, Barchi, the Motorola guy whose name I forget, and the other donors...

So it's about how your friends and colleagues make you feel that we should base this on?
I defended a friend who was charged with harassment/assault. He was convicted in municipal court . I knew about the incident and knew the charges were bogus. The charges were thrown out on appeal.

But it seems we have judges and juries here before all of the facts are out. What if these are the facts based on one version of the rumors based on what's on twitter that were posted in another thread that he was trying to defend someone?

Oh come on. With everything happening you really believe that is what is was? Suspended indefinitely for defending a friend the week before the game that will decide Flood's fate if everything else hasn't already?

Can someone just tell me what Flood has done in the eyes of his supporters to merit such unflinching defense?

You get what you pay for. RU and NJ are so cheap that they lose a lot more money than they possibly save.

Because he's our Head Coach and until someone smarter that you says he's not, we should support him.

Wow, cult of personality much? You sound like a PSU fan. No, we shouldn't blindly support someone just because there in a position of power. He is not your boyfriend, he is a man in a well-compensated position and it is more than reasonable to have certain expectations of him. Support should be based on merit and body of work, and as of right now both are piss poor with Kyle Flood.

If RU won yesterday, would you feel differently?
Nobody is going to debate the integrity of Kyle Flood. He is a good man and until it is shown otherwise, he has impeccable character. But that may be his undoing and he may be victim to the saying of what happens to nice guys. You can't expect a coach to control the behavior of every single player, most of which are grown men. If you want to hang Coach Flood out to dry for what Carroo did (if shown to be true), consider that Carroo is what --22 years old? I was married and working full time at 23 years old--making my own decisions. Now the other things with allowing other players to stick around after a couple of incidents have more merit to them.

Disagree. As a fan it's your choice to support the coach or not. Support the team until the bitter end - no question - but I sure as hell am not going to support a coach I don't want to support and neither should anyone else.

There doesn't seem to be any threads or posts from anyone enjoying this. Everyone seems distraught or upset or mad. What are you specifically referring to ?
I haven't read every post but I agree. I haven't seen one post to support the OPs postion. The Carroo suspension hurts Rutgers badly for the upcoming game. Not one fan thinks this is a good thing.
And if anyone thinks that Flood will be fired mid-season needs to see how rare that happens in college football.

And let me be clear. Whether it is "fair" or not, sometimes the best thing for the program and the organization is to have the captain of the ship walk the plank, even if he is the nicest captain that all the other guys on the boat thought was the greatest captain ever and a really great guy. Especially when the ship has taken multiple shots to the hull and is taking on water.
