I know that this will seem like I am nitpicking but I noticed something yesterday that says a lot about this program right now. After Rutgers scored to make it 21 7 in the first half, players were celebrating (which of course you should after a td). Then as the defense went on the field they showed some of the offensive players on the sidelines joking and laughing and sitting on the bench not even watching the game.

Later on when we were still down 14 and showing no signs of life, defensive players were dancing after tackles. At other moments, even though we played poorly, players were dancing or on the sidelines looking like they werent upset at all with their performance.

Big deal right? They are kids they should celebrate and can't be lazered focused on every play. But then I started thinking about the trash talking last week, the email scandal, and the fact that laviano has more job security than about any person I can think of despit his performance. It all boils down to there is no respect or discipline with this coach. He sends out messages that you can do whatever you want: trash talk, play awful, and there are no con sequences for your actions.

The reason I think many of his players defend him is because they like that they can get away with anything. He's the "cool" teacher who kids like because he gives everyone A s and let's kids do whatever they want in class.

More so than recruiting or bad play calling, this is toxic to our program imo. Thoughts?

The tenor of a program starts with the HC and pervades the entire team.

Flood pretty much stands like an expressionless statue, hardly seeming to show emotion one way or the other. -At times, I get the feeling that if a cardboard cutout of KF was propped up on the sidelines the game results would basically be the same as when he's physically there.

If the top guy seems to have no fire and appears lost during a game, I guess the players take their cue from him and figure they can do whatever they want; dance, tell jokes, laugh it up, ignore the game, whatever, since they know they really aren't going to get chewed out as a result.

Agree completely.

They love Flood because there are no consequences for doing a poor job or having the level of class of Nadir Barnwell.
