Spring Game Schedule of Events

I remember in the past the Spring game was a fundraiser for the children's units of SPUH and RWJUH, does that not happen any longer?

Doesn't say all that much. I wonder if they'll have the Kids Zone set up.

Edit: Oh, that sucks - just noticed that they will not have an autograph session.

That does suck... I was planning to bring my nephew and have been talking about the autograph session for weeks
Yep, that's been one of the highlights for Tyler and Corey in the past.

That was when $5 admission was charged. I think that went away when it became part of Rutgers Day activities a couple years ago

Wait ....what?!??
No going on the field after the game?? No getting to meet the players or for kids to get autographs??
I am actually befuddled. That hour on the field was easily the highlight of my family's spring game day experience and one of the consistent highlights ALL YEAR.
I would love to know the reasoning to cancel it because from my 2 cent view, the positives far outweigh the negatives.

I bet you'll see less families because of the lack of autograph session... I think it has always been more of a family event in comparison to the regular season... Just like Howard is vs the the conference schedule... @bobby deren any insight on why?

So there is not the ability to go on the field after the game? My son has been talking about that since last year. Had a blast running around there after the game after the last spring game.

Maybe Ash is more concerned about his kid getting their classwork done, as well as both on-and-off field preparation, than them signing autographs? Maybe they'll do it in the summer? Who knows but I'm sure he has his reasons.

He is following the osu model; The less free signatures means the more they can charge to get tattoos:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But the real question on Rutgers Athletics Spring Apparel Sale will it be old can't sell $hit or will they have the new 250th stuff?

This will be great for collectors!

Yea like I said, Old $hit that they can't sale.
Thank you I will not have to get there early for that waste and with no autographs at the end I guess the kids can stay home.
RUTGERS MARKETING AND ADVERTISING wake up and earn you keep; typical lazy government workers no brain, no motivation, no desire; yea that is The Rutgers Screw at work we are paying for these government loafers

In all honesty my kids are small and didn't even care about the autographs. They just wanted to go on the field and run around and score touchdowns like we did last year.

I am going to the BC game at noon.

9am it opens up for the kids. Players hang around and see the kids prior to the game.

They should have pole dancers set up in Athletes Glen after the game for the dads, with $2 PBRs.[/QUOTE
Per Duggan's tweet the autograph session will be held after the fan appreciation practice this summer.

(he did note, in an earlier tweet, that the autograph session at the Spring Game was always a big hit in the past)
New coach. New era. New attitude. Maybe but I have a 2 hour drive. No flag football, no autograph signing (current and past players), no going on the field after the game? Think I might stay home. Was looking forward to the excitement but not very excited right now.

This is only the third spring game BC is having in the last 5 years. The two they held, attendance was 300 & 500.
What's your point? BC is located in the region of the United States that care little for college or high school in comparison to other regions. They accept maybe a couple dozen from Massachusetts so there is virtually no regional ties.

If I didn't have kids I'd still have my season tickets to RU and drive down for every game. BC is a good alternative for the time being.

Honestly, one autograph session per year is enough for me… If they do that in the summer, and I think it's fine. Maybe the program needs to grow up a little bit and the spring game is a little bit more big time and we can focus on seeing the play on the field ( and tailgating of course ).

I would think maybe the coach is sending a message. You haven't earned the opportunity for fans to put you on a pedestal yet. The game is over. Get back to work.

Just me.

It is not just you, I think you might be 100% correct. Anyway, it was the 1st thing that came to mind when I heard about it.
