We had some discussion a few weeks back about the pros and cons of a Friday Spring game. As a result, I went and looked to see what other schools were doing. This is not a complete list as all schools aren't posted or finalized. As of now, There are 7 teams playing their spring game on a Friday night and they include BYU, Louisville, and Georgia Tech. As expected, most play on a Saturday but I found the start times to be odd for more than a few. Army and Tulane's games start at 11am, Duke at 10am, Minnesota at 12, and OSU and NC State both start at 1. I know 1 is a normal college time but it seems early and will keep fans from really participating especially at a place like OSU. UNC does not have a spring game.

Are those times Eastern Time or local time at each school? Just curious, since Minnesota is often forced to play noon games (ET) during the regular season so why not give their fans a break and have a later game? And BYU's TV contract seems to mandate a disproportionate number of Friday games so why not let their fans enjoy a Saturday event for a change. Is TV driving the bus on this?

Assume eastern standard but site didn't specify. There were some other odd times I didn't post bc I wasn't sure if they were local

I like the idea of having the spring game at night under the lights. There was some speculation that we might hold our spring game at night this year in an attempt to add a Friday Night Lights feel to it for the fans and recruits in attendance. Unfortunately we will be sticking with our traditional time of 1pm. The 1pm start time has yet to hurt our attendance for the spring game as we average around 60k + and I would almost expect the shoe to be full (weather permitting) this year coming off a national title.

GO BUCKS!

Nebraska is having theirs at 1:00CST. Part of the reason for the 1:00 is the BTN and NU has a home baseball game at 6:00 that people will attend both.
