Their guard from Italy, I am not even sure is a division 1 player. They have very little, and that which they do have isn't even playing yet. They are picked last in their conference.
We had more talent than them tonight, yet couldn't do the things decent teams do to win. I'm still not sure how we lost besides dumb turnovers, not working ANY clock at ANY time, and allowing the guards to continuously challenge their bigs with little to show for it. We got the lead by team play. We lost it by playground one on one stuff. Obviously free throw shooting is atrocious. Again. How Eddie doesn't reign the guards in is beyond me. How he allowed the team to jack bad shots when we had a huge lead is just a recipe for giving teams life. Either the kids don't listen or no one is telling them. This is basic basketball stuff. We are all used to losing at this point, sadly. Just once though it would be nice to see a Rutgers team have some smart players on the court who at least have some basic concepts of doing what it takes to win a game. We haven't seen that in years. Like many years. Wenzel was no guru, but he makes every coach after him look like the Washington Generals coach.
Too much to dissect, but it all comes down to the same ole same ole. If this team finishes anything other than last, consider it a victory.
At least the lax team has some promising pieces.
