You are a clown! I am here and the crowd is fine, about 10,000 more than your claim of 34,000. If the 8,000 Iowa fans that were reported showed up; it would be a sell out.

Awful. We had good student attendance for HC, the Pitt game in '92 (1st night game at Rutgers Stadium), and that was about it.
By mid 2nd quarter the student section was 3/4 full, good job students. Overall I'd guess about 45k.

That wasn't at kickoff. I was in my seats AT kickoff. There were more there - NOT A LOT AT ALL NO DOUBT - but check out Wisconsin's student section for noon starts. Looks the same. Wish it were better, however, don't get me wrong.
I'm sure that's true...just that our students have been rattling some cages with petitions and threats lately. It rings hollow when the level of their commitment to supporting the team from start to finish is what it is.

Mike Hlas is a longtime Iowa football reporter for the Cedar Rapids Journal. He has no motivation to do anything other than relay what he saw at the game, and according to his reporting, there weren't 44,000 people in the stadium. I believe him.

IMO we had 44k there. I'd even say 45k. Overall, once it filled in it was a pretty good crowd.

Even Rutgers claims it was only 44K (not 45K) and as we saw last week with New Mexico, the RU number is hugely inflated. Iowa newspaper reporter said it was less than 44K as well. There's no reason not to believe him, especially with all the clearly visible empty seats in the lower and upper decks.

Sorry. You want us there in the student section for kickoff then we need a closer spot to tailgate. Taking the bus from college Ave over takes a while. The group I went with made it there by exactly noon and we left at 1120. And honestly we show up and stay the game and were loud, yet people on this board still want to call us out. How about you worry about selling out the north end zone and upper deck which again were empty.

Many posters here believe this "myth" that ALL student sections are packed for EVERY game around the nation, every week, no matter who that team is playing. This is bred from, likely, people watching ONLY big games, late or night games, etc..

No, I've actually been proven right. And if you go to the attendance thread, I predicted several days ago that RU would announce 44K. As the reporter has confirmed, it wasn't even close to that high, which I predicted as well. Sorry that you had a rough day.

- use The Bubble (more than big enough)
- put a gigantic piece of plastic (okay, get a roller...) over the surface
- card at the door and bracelet all students over 21 who enter
- hire a team of bouncers to work inside.
- have a DJ
- easy walk from bus drop-off and to stadium entrance
You have not in any way, shape, or form, been proven "correct" about there being less than 44K'ish in the stadium. You're WRONG for listening to a reporter from Iowa who has NO CLUE WTF he is talking about. No question in my mind there was right about 44K in the house. Move along sunshine.
RutgersB1G you're gonna piss a lot of people off at the game if you keep mouthing at people. I was at the game section 116 row 3. Stadium was dead until like 5 min Into the 1st quarter then it got decently packed.
