Dear friends,

We are reaching out to support one of the oldest and most cherished members of our message board – Beaced, Known to many as Burt. At 99 years old, Burt has been a loyal Rutgers University (RU) Fan for over 80 years. His passion for the Scarlet Knights runs deep, and his heart is as full of RU pride as it was when he first became a fan.
Sadly, Burt Is facing a difficult time. He has chronic heart failure, balance issues, and while his mind remains sharp and witty, his body is no longer able to keep up. Burt Can no longer care for himself independently, and his loving daughter who cares for him along with an aide, Is stretched thin. She spends her salary on his needs, including caregiving and medical supplies, as well as paying bills.
Since Burt’s financial resources Have been depleted, we are raising funds to help him through this challenging period. As a former athletic director in Newark, New Jersey, Burt Dedicated his life to helping kids, and even today, former students reach out to him to express gratitude for the positive impact he had on their lives.
He has outlived his savings and desperately needs assistance to cover the costs of in-home care, bills, and other necessary expenses. We are asking for your support to help make this time in his life a little bit easier.
We sincerely thank all donors who choose to support Burt. Your generosity will make a world of difference to someone who has given so much to others.
Please help us spread the word. Share Beaced’s GoFundMe Page with your network of friends, family and business associates.

With heartfelt Thanks,
His daughter, Daria

Donated. My father passed at 97 and I took care of my father the last year or so. It’s extremely difficult but she might consider putting him in a nursing home under Medicaid. My father stayed at a nursing home for a month or two for rehabilitation covered under his supplemental insurance. I’m taking care of my mom now who’s 93 but looks like she’ll make 97 at least.

I think I'm doing a good job of saving for retirement, but I'd probably also only have social security left if I made it to 99. That's not going to cut it when you have special needs.

This is an assumption on my part, but the next step is losing your house to the state in exchange for assisted living. Not a great option and hopefully it won't come to that if that is what they are facing. Regardless, good luck Beaced.

Donated.
My mother is 91.5. sharp as a tack but has battled a number of health conditions the past few years. We are all Beaced's daughter.

This is something everyone on the board should donate to, even if its $10. More important than NIL payments.

This is WAY more important than NIL. If Beaced is 99, how old is his daughter still getting a paycheck to help pay to care for her father? 70? 75?
Screw NIL this month. Donate to this cause.

Donated today as well. Beaced is a legend and should be treated as such in his super golden years. Always been nothing but a true gentleman on these boards.

I donated to support Beaced AND his daughter who must be a saint and is sacrificing much in this situation. How tough is that?

Oh shit. This makes me sad. Was hoping to hear where @beaced is/was. It had been too long. I demand everyone help out in whatever way we can. If we can’t for Burt, who can we?

donated! let’s keep the support going and make sure this thread stays near the top of the board!

Donated. He is one of my favorite posters of all time. Miss his posts.

Guys you all need to step up even if it's a few bucks. You mean to tell me that we can have well over 300 entries in the NCAA Bracket Challenge but we only have 80 people willing to help arguably the greatest RU fan of all time???
If everyone who responds to the "What is Everybody Drinking Tonight?" thread can set aside the cost of a six pack of your favorite brew and donate, that would have a huge impact.
Come on everyone!!!! Pitch in!!!!!

I just thought of what they could send him. How about a Rutgers game jersey with "Beaced' on the ;back. Any thoughts @DJ Spanky ?

It’s embarrassing honestly. 81 donations. All the people on the stock thread ? Most people here make good $$ and even if you don’t $5 too much? I’d rather see 300 donations of $5 than 2 of $XXXX

Bump, and donated. My mother lived to 96, and she passed away last year. Very thankful for one of my brothers who lived with her and was her caretaker for 15 years until the end. That last 10 months was very rough, particularly when my brother was dealing with cancer/chemo. Hoping that @beaced is comfortable, and Daria is managing.

Donated and Bump. Was helping with my mom the last couple of years - that was one of the toughest things I ever did. Important lesson I learned in the end was don't forget to take care of yourself. God bless Beaced and his daughter.
