A couple hours ago, Richie posted that MIchigan State Commit, Blackshear, was visiting Rutgers this weekend.
That was followed by a series of posts of people questioning whether the news should be posted...as they felt it could hurt the situation. I also received some emails from well-intentioned, concerned fans. Considering it was 3PM and I was dismissing my students (I am a teacher), I took down the post until I could figure out what was going on.
As it turns out, the kid posted the info to his own Snapchat account. It was picked up by our Michigan State writer, which means that the news was doubly "out there." In fact, they have a thread on their premium board about it.
So, as it turns out, I jumped the gun in deleting the thread. I was just trying to keep everyone happy and ensure that we were doing right by everyone.
