I wouldn't be surprised if he is there. The B1G isn't playing this week, plenty of time to get out and see prospects...but that doesn't count as working overtime it's part of the gig :)Somehow I think Pikiell might be there again as well. He is working overtime as is his entire staff.
Kimani Young from Minnesota will be at Strickland's game today.
St. Petersburg plays at 4pm.
Ahhhh, the quotes from people not familiar with Rutgers' athletic history. It was only 3 years ago that Rutgers Basketball had a staff that not only didn't like to recruit but also didn't believe in practicing rebounding. At the same time, Rutgers Football had a head coach that blew off opening day game prep to attend a Counting Crows concert without even telling his assistants beforehand.but that doesn't count as working overtime it's part of the gig :)
I admit to almost zero knowledge about Rutgers' football history but I remember Eddie Jordan's staff and read the comments about how Jordan didn't seem to like recruiting. I was posting here and read about that and saw the Jordan quote about rebounding (which was astonishing to read that, but then I saw a video of him saying it and just smh)Ahhhh, the quotes from people not familiar with Rutgers' athletic history. Even if they had won, which I had my doubts due to the opponent, their season would have ended tonight in the championship game. So that has little to do with scheduling visits.I see that St. Petersburg H.S. lost today in the state tournament 73-58. Strictland scored 10 and Smith of St. Pete scored 36. I guess their season is now over so hopefully Tai can visit RU soon.
Steadily got their asses beat during our game this year (but I agree)They have a great athletic program. Sustained football success, basketball has been pretty steady too.

You are thinking too much about this. Strickland can sign tomorrow and Pickell will figure it out. Right now the football team has way more than 85 signed and actually has more than 85 scholarship students currently in school with the early enrollees.Just to be clear -
It seems that handshakes & understandings are entirely possible - and will actually have to be the way to operate until a genuine confirmed opening occurs to enable the formal signing of another class of 2018 (RU class of 2022) player.... because at this very moment, there isn't a scholarship to give - correct?
I mean - yes, in all probability we can count on there being one or more changes to the roster - changes that have not yet been announced - so technically the puzzle can be solved - a scholarship will open up - but if a recruit (in this case Strickland) is doing his due diligence and looking to eliminate questions and uncertainties - how does a coaching staff provide the firm assurance that all will work out? do they say "trust me" - do they tip their hand and say "Player X is transferring - it just has not been announced yet"
Probably a moot point as I am guessing that the source of the opening will become clear before March 23rd.
Russ, can Strickland shoot? I don’t see a lot of outside shots.Np. Auto-correct is a mfer
Russ, can Strickland shoot? I don’t see a lot of outside shots.
Certainly not a lights-out shooter, but he's more than adequate. He describes himself as a do-it-all point guard, being able to lead the team, make plays for others, score, play tough defense and rebound.please let the answer be he can
Yes.Russ, can Strickland shoot? I don’t see a lot of outside shots.
I believe that basketball coaches have until the first day of practiceYou are thinking too much about this. Strickland can sign tomorrow and Pickell will figure it out. I would imagine that coach has until the first day of classes or maybe even until the first game to figure it out. It is the same situation any football player faces when signing -- limited uncertainty that the scholarship is there.
Sounds good. Hopefully he can be a three point threat.Certainly not a lights-out shooter, but he's more than adequate. He describes himself as a do-it-all point guard, being able to lead the team, make plays for others, score, play tough defense and rebound.

Depaul offered as per his twitter.
Let's make sure the appropriate "talent" happens to be in his scheduled areas of campus visit. Who coordinates this?
