We're planning on cracking the first beer at 8 in the Black Lot, as normal. What's everyone else got planned?
Will there be a special ceremony? Remarks?7am Blue Lot. Breakfast tailgate.... again.
My retirement tailgate. I'll be attending, but no longer hosting after this year.

That's quite a diet for an old man. I haven't seen you in 15+ years. Are you still built like a brick house?Oatmeal with protein scoop at home, arriving at 10 AMish
You're 10 minutes ahead of me. We'll be your tailgate neighbor.Yellow lot 7:45
Good luck in retirement. I love it. Why not hosting after this, if I may ask?7am Blue Lot. Breakfast tailgate.... again.

One couple in our group has 7 and 5-year old girls and they love the boardwalk (rides, face painters, food etc.) and frankly, it's probably easier on grown-ups with young kids vs. trying to keep them occupied at a tailgate geared toward adults.Bringing the kids. Will be our first time ever checking out the boardwalk. Compared to our tailgates of old, more like boredwalk. Amiright?

When it becomes too much like another job, it's time to step aside. You can't socialize as much when you're hosting. Our group is a decent size at times, but not overwhelming. Several us have our roles on gameday, so no one gets stuck with doing everything, which is great.I don't have it in me anymore. Too tired the next day & it's just not fun.
I look forward to attending the boardwalk and trying some of the food trucks and I look forward to attending tailgates and just being a participant and not have to worry about anything
Enjoy tailgate host retirement. You have earned it. Knowing your love for all things Rutgers, I'm sure everyone who has ever enjoyed one of your tailgates agrees you're the...7am Blue Lot. Breakfast tailgate.... again.

Everyone on the board should host Mrs. Screw next year. She will be like the new Commissioner of Tailgating. Remember that guy?Enjoy tailgate host retirement. You have earned it. As much as people here kill PJ for other things, the Boardwalk was a great addition. I don't go much as I am focused on tailgating, but it's great for those who don't really tailgate and as you said, those with young kids who would be bored at a tailgate. One couple in our group has 7 and 5-year old girls and they love the boardwalk (rides, face painters, food etc.) and frankly, it's probably easier on grown-ups with young kids vs. trying to keep them occupied at a tailgate geared toward adults.
It takes a toll. Especially when you are there every game. You're consumed on planning, then closer to the game packing everything for the car, early starts, setting up and after the game getting home late and unpacking and cleaning things before you get to bed. You should be extremely proud of your run as the queen of the tailgates all these years. I definitely miss the days walking Scarlet at dawn through the lots and seeing you and your gang, first in the Yellow then the front row of the Blue. YOU ARE A LEGEND! ♥️I don't have it in me anymore. Too tired the next day & it's just not fun.

I certainly get not wanting to do too much, which is why our tailgates have usually been fairly simple, with more focus on just hanging out and sometimes doing brought food or the Boardwalk.I don't have it in me anymore. Too tired the next day & it's just not fun.

I've liked PJ, especially for the Boardwalk innovation, but also for the game entertainment with the best being the UW game this year, which was the best game/event in years. As much as people here kill PJ for other things, the Boardwalk was a great addition. Similar here. Our group of 12 shares and rotates responsibilities, so nobody is stuck all the time. When it becomes too much like another job, it's time to step aside. Agree- that whole night was off the charts. Of course, it helped that we won too...I've liked PJ, especially for the Boardwalk innovation, but also for the game entertainment with the best being the UW game this year, which was the best game/event in years.
Now that’s a tailgate I could get behind. Especially road trips to KUTZTOWN, number 3 d2 school in the nation!!Tomorrow is the 10th and final tailgate of the year (8 RU and 2Kutztown). Tomorrow start is the usual 0730 on the patio of the church. Home fries with eggs topped with homemade chili.
Funny you still call me out after 40 years of being the first guy there. 4-5 people?? 🤣🤣🤣 That's not work! @MrsScrew has had way more then 4-5 people. We both have had over 10x that over the years! FSU fan knows nothing. Funny you always try to make it all about you!Used to host a tailgate for 4-5 people
Nothing crazy, but you’re right it does take it all on you
Definitely do not miss hosting
