Tailgate plans for the Illinois game?

It takes a toll. Especially when your are there every game. You're consumed on planning, then closer to the game packing everything for the car, early starts, setting up and after the game getting home late and unpacking and cleaning things before you get to bed. You should be extremely proud of your run as the queen of the tailgates all these years. I definitely miss the days walking Scarlet at dawn through the lots and seeing you and your gang, first in the Yellow then the front row of the Blue. YOU ARE A LEGEND! ♥️
Honestly the work-to-enjoyment ratio of tailgate hosting never quite added up for me.

I'd need to tailgate for two or three days for that math to work.

Nothing but respect for @MrsScrew and other tailgate captains!

I always love the smaller schools that have good football and tailgating to go along with it

Lafayette, Lehigh, Kutztown, Bucknell, and I’m sure of a bunch of others in Pennsylvania playing in the patriot or equivalent league (s)

And of course, all the MAC teams in the Midwest, I’ve always wanted to check out one of those games as well
Lafayette Lehigh tomorrow. One of the great traditions in college football.

Funny you still call me out after 40 years of being the first guy there. 4-5 people?? 🤣🤣🤣 That's not work! @MrsScrew has had way more then 4-5 people. We both have had over 10x that over the years! FSU fan knows nothing. Funny you always try to make it all about you!
C’mon Bus. This is generally a positive thread. No need to go after Jay Dog on this. I thought this was the Mrs. Screw Tailgate Retirement Tribute thread. 😁

It was a positive thread. I was all about the transition of @MrsScrew to taking a step back. I am so happy about what she did all these years and making a (hard) decision to step back. If you're not the leader of the tailgate you don't understand how much work it is. How it consumes your fall life. She has been a leader in tailgating and making connections inside Rutgers helping to make changes for all of us. Jaydog isn't a Rutgers fan, he has mocked me for not going to every game after 40 years, when he himself doesn't for FSU or Rutgers. Then tops it off trying to compare 4/5 people to what Mrs has done in an amazing style for a huge crowd for years.
During the fall there isn't a day or two where there isn't a FB memory picture of Scarlet posted by Mrs. Sometimes I'm in it but only when I was wearing the Oktoberfest Oppo suit or the Ohio State fan who turned out to be awesome with all buckeye necklaces he was wearing. 🤣🤣

Kutztown not a great tailgate scene based on what we see at RU, but it is a lot of fun none the less. Lots of passionate fans, and more intimate since everyone in the tailgate area seems to have a direct connection to the game. We tailgate with a buddy who has had the spot for years even after his daughter graduated after being a cheerleader. One side of us ar family from the band the other from the football team. We enjoy those tailgates as much as our RU, the football not the same level.

We're planning on cracking the first beer at 8 in the Black Lot, as normal. What's everyone else got planned?
Black. Gonna have a few Headless Gourdsman's from Founders. Maybe bring some hot chocolate and mix with Bailey's and/or Kahlua if I need a heated drink. I'll search for some guy playing 80s music who pours me a scotch and have a few laughs with him.

Oh, I know that, wasn't comparing, just curious what they charge at that level.
I can attest that KUTZTOWN tailgating is small, but passionate.
Thanks JC for the kind words.
As for prices, prime tailgating spot is 40. Reserved, under cover seats are 25. And that’s for second round playoffs.
I will be there next Saturday right in the middle of all the action.

Here since 6:20

Game time…red lot. Son flew home from school early yesterday for Thanksgiving so he could attend one Rutgers game. Unfortunately was sick overnight so no tailgating for us today.

@WhiteBus @MrsScrew

If one person is doing all of the heavy lifting, that's not going to be fun for them. You have to split the load and occasionally give a member of the team a game or two off to simply hang out. For a four to six hour tailgate, I probably spend less than an hour of it "working". The rest of the time it's all fun and games. After 41 years of tailgating in the yellow lot, I still love every minute of it.

PS - shoutout to @rutgersal and @Mike from MD and his crew for stopping by yesterday. Great to see old friends!
