Texas and Oklahoma Delaying Entry Into SEC?

Athletically, Rutgers and Arkansas are very similar. Our football teams can be good, even great at times, but consistently we will likely be 8-4 at best. Most often, just make a bowl game and we would be happy.

the key to long term success within the conference is to be in the top tier in basketball, baseball, track and field, softball, wrestling, etc.

Rutgers is kicking arse in so many areas. Arkansas does as well. Just not football.

Both schools are valuable members of premier conferences!

It is better to already be in the family(B1G/SEC) than to desire to move into it.

If it takes 5 years to implement, if anyone is going, I would think they would be on their way out by then.
Even with the GOR, a new broom sweeps clean. It might benefit the remaining schools to cut them loose and settle into a more lucrative/stable contract.

This is why the PAC has issue... the population of TV viewers to watch LIVE sports is mostly in the east and by the time the PAC plays.. they have had enough of whatever sport.

No conference affiliation can solve that. 3D Pop Density Map
