Looks like he may have the skill set to play corner too. You can't have too many athletes.

I'm just trying to deduce the connection that helped them find him. EDIT: His coach once played for Bill Busch.

looks like an athlete with elite speed, play some wide out and CB but took most of the snaps as a spread QB, anybody know what his projected position is?

So far, these under the radar prospects have looked great. I have total faith in Ash and crew knowing talent when they see it. Not so much with Mr. Flood.

Hopefully we'll be welcoming our first Texas recruit in awhile!

Flood did recruit Kemoko Turay. He had a decent eye for talent.

You will never convince some people that Flood did some things right. It's not even worth the time. Remember what Turzilli said about the way the program was run compared to Kanas-he said it was like night and day. Flood was in over his head from day 1. He tried, and did a few things well, but he was never going to run well up against the powers in the B1G East.

One of the things that jumps out to me after watching the film with some of these "under the radar" kids Ash/staff are going after, is the grit/determination, playing straight to the whistle and fighting for every yard. You see it in this kid Bailey's tape, the balance, the refusal to quit on the play, staying in bounds and fighting for that extra yard, looking to make a block to spring his teammate, etc. I saw the same thing with Idrizi's film too. They look like kids who enjoy competing.

Some of these kids may not have the ideal measurables, or maybe they run a 4.6 or 4.7 and not a 4.4, but to paraphrase Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday: they are going to fight for that inch.

Fight or flight...

Oh right, ONE GUY. And that may have had nothing to do with Flood, and instead one of the assistants noticing him. Oh, and let's not forget how poorly utilized an extremely talented player like Kemoko was last year.

Kid looks money. Screw these kids from Jersey. I love going after out of state kids, especially from Texas. When was that done last here?

This. He was absolutely terrible at developing players and making them improve.

Flood was a joke. Sit back, relax, and light a giant spliff knowing Coach Ash will take us to higher places...

Have to agree that a sub 11 second 100 meter is not always a sub 4.5 forty. Unless a friend is timing your forty which is often the case in these self reported times. The kid has good but not great speed on film. regardless I think he is a good recruit.

If he took a lot of snaps at Qb and ran the ball in HS, then in a system similar to what Herman runs at Houston and we run at tOSU he will proabably end up a H Back.

Bailey can eventually replace Grant as a returner. He is also quick enough that he can get to the edge on sweeps and he makes guys miss. You can't teach this stuff.

It looks like he would be perfect for the H position.

Somebody on the new staff knows something of real merit about this recruit - more than height /weight / 40 times / 100 meter times
He plays Football / Basketball / Baseball / runs Track at Pilot Point High School ( 9-12 grade = 440 students ) about 60 miles north of Dallas
You don't typically pull a "not on the radar screen" kid from northern Texas in on a OV if you don't already have some scoop that he has genuine potential

Maybe the fact that Point Pilot is 25 miles from University of North Texas has significance ...
Maybe that camp that he did at Univ of Houston left an impression ...

Maybe, on top of all of that - the personal perspective that is laid out in his "Personal Statement" really comes through in person & his coaches attest to his grit determination & authenticity -

Read his story -- sure all of these are written to put the best foot forward & they have to be taken with many grains of salt - but there is some exceptional character/tenacity stuff in this kid's story ...
- at first I wondered how the transition from semi rural Texas to NJ would play out - but he has been though dramatic transitions - had had what ever it took to recognize opportunity as it presented itself & seized upon it - he did not curl up in a ball & whine about how this new place was so different - he managed to see 'new place' as a way forward.... and to understand that consistently working as hard as you can to exceed your potential - pays off.

just a hunch - but this kid is going to be somebody ...

IIRC Turay was never recruited by anyone. Wasn't he a basketball player and some HS coach recommended he try football? A tape was made and sent to RU, they brought him in and an offer was made on the spot. Turay was not someone you can scout or recruit. He was on no ones radar.

BTW, I'm all for fast wide receivers who were also RB's. They will certainly be more physical since they're used to getting tackled hard by linebackers not 150 LBS DB's. Speed is good for spread WR's and Receivers who can block their assignment.....even better.

In 2015 NJ's best 100m for HS kid was 10.72. Minkah Fitzpatrick ran 10.85. This kid's 11.09 would tie for 48th in last years times

In other words you are clueless and have no idea what those numbers means in football.
Perhaps you are clueless as to what the word 'elite' means. His time would have been 48th best in NJ last year.

48TH!!! .24 slower than Fitzpatrick. This kid is a 4.6X forty kid. Good speed but not close to 'ELITE'.

Ran middle distances in HS, always wanted to run the 100M just once so I could say I was only 3 seconds off the World Record.
