We had a memorable season filled with ups and downs. Our team played their hearts out last night and although we fell short, you can see the positives that were not there five years ago; including a real offense. Kirk has taken this offense and made it legit.
I didn’t know what to expect last night. I watched KSU a few times this season and their speed is what stood out. If we are going to win a game like that, we need more defensive speed. Longerbeam, Powell and crew; are going to be sorely missed. We have some kids who got experience this year and thats going to help, but besides a Tackle to replace Pierce, we have to spend on defense. We saw how badly the injuries hurt us and that was a big part of why we didnt get 9-10 wins.
I love offense, and that was exciting stuff last night. Our kids are great and we should be applauding them for having the resilience to come back and win 3 of the last 4 to get us bowling. Thats a huge credit to Schiano. Of course i was upset they lost the bowl. I can’t imagine how badly the kids felt!
There are a bunch of these kids who are going to play in the NFL. And if you are a Rutgers fan, that’s what we got. We develop kids into professional football players and along the way, try to win as many games as possible. I am okay with that. The alternative is going back to winning 2-3 games a year and watching blowouts.
I would suggest thinking before writing disparaging comments to make yourself feel better. You can do what you want, but thats not going to help.
