Lots of unhappy campers in the house. Is it the knee I heard about recently?Damn. Dylan's not dressed.
The crossover where he made his man fall down and then finished at the rim was just ridiculous.Nice first half from Somerville.
I think he had 17 points on 8 of 10 shooting and 2 of 2 from 3.
He’s like the opposite of Cliff. Not a bouncy athlete but great touch offensively for a big guy.
It's been since Douby that we had an electric scorer. The fans are really going to lose their minds. I might have to move back to NJ 🤣The crowd noise at the RAC next season will be at a all time high watching Bailey and Harper make incredible shots. Fans have been waiting decades to see elite talent playing for Rutgers .
Sommerville's floor spacing will be massive. He also should be able to set very effective screens with that wide body. When we run these plays with Cliff handing the ball off on the perimeter he isn't a threat from there. Lathan will be since he can shoot pass and dribbleThe pieces of this roster being put together with the 2023 class and others, are going to speed up the tempo, so Ace, Dylan can get into offense before teams will have a chance to figure it out.
If you see Ace move and pair him up with a Davis in transition and then have a shooter like Gavin to keep lanes open, it has so much upside.
The key will be Lathan Sommerville and him having the ability to play on the perimeter, if necessary, to keep the floor spread. Since he can actually score from 3, he won't clog the paint. Add in Dortch and Dylan Grant and Jeremiah Williams as capable defensive players who are athletic and can also drive and elevate, pass, there are options to interchange.
Makes me look forward to games like tomorrow vs Stonehill, so we can see some more steps forward from our frosh and sophomores, gaining confidence and experience.
