The bigger question maybe will Eddie make it to March?

Bring back Mike Rice. Anyone. Someone. I don't care who. Someone else.

oh the same people will defend him and blame it on injuries to prove some point that you have give a coach 4-5 years even if everyone knows he isn't going to work out

I don't need to see one more second of basketball to know the outcome of this coaching regime

These posters are just stuck in 1976 and the glory days of RU. They can't see EJ in today's light.

Nevermind his awful game prep and in game coaching, he has ZERO recruits for next season.. With a roster That has limited talent and needs players desperately, ZERO recruits! How do you not find one high school level player interested in playing and playing a lot?..not one..College is a recruiting game, and we have ZERO recruits

I wish Rice were back.
I bet you if he took over right now, this team would win 3 conference games and play defense
Wouldn't doubt that a bit, but Rice sealed his fate the way he acted towards the players and gave the media the ammunition they needed to run him out of the program.
Water's teams would have been better as well, but both couldn't make the RU MBB program better than an average one.
But that average RU team would have competed far better than Jordan's teams usually do.

That said, Jordan will be back next season and Hobbs will let it known if Eddie don't make the Dance or at least an NIT spot, he'll not be coming back.
This way all during the season will be trying to get the funds to buy out Eddie's last year and have enough to hire quality. But that's just my opinion and wouldn't mind very much is Hobbs hires someone that can recruit and make RU MBB a winning program that goes dancing every year.
If that doesn't happen, will just hope RU MBB starts winning and proves everyone wrong that hinks he can't make RU a winner.
I'm starting to fall into that category after defending Jordan's coaching ability till a couple weeks ago.

He might as well require Jordan to turn lead into gold if those are the terms

No way you can bring Eddie back unless you extend the contract, which is unthinkable. A lame duck coach cannot recruit.

Me too. Should never have left, really.
Imagine if a few minutes of selected clips from seasons of Bobby Knight's practices ever came out. I've heard the sainted Coach K can make a sailor blush with his mouth behind the scenes.

Absolutely..so unfortunate, but what's done is done.

I am still surprised he made it to this year? I was thinking for sure after having some of the kids he had last year and how poorly they played they just quit on him. He should have been let go at the end of the year. I think the new AD will make a move sooner than later if he is for real.

I'm still of the opinion that Jordan is here next year, but there's a better chance of a change with the change in AD. Julie probably guaranteed this year and next year. As far as recruiting goes it's hard to imagine Eddie not picking up someone before all is said and done.

if no one transfers then next year should be better than this year.

If Hobbs can find the money to buy Eddie out, it's a possibility, but we've accepted the basketball program for what it is for years now, and Hobbs may want to have more of a concrete plan in place for facilities before trying to bring in a new coach. That may work in Eddie's favor to working out his contract and potentially retiring at that time.

spend 15-20 minutes watching one of EJ's practices and see if you believe he is right for the college game.
I've seen CYO practices that were more intense and taught the players more about the fundamentals of the game. EJ's attitude is that they know the fundamentals already so we don't have to spend time on rebounding, boxing out, screens etc.
Left shaking my head?
The person that sits next to me at the RU games is a former college and NBA ref. He has spent a few minutes watching a practice or two and said that Eddie's are straight out of the NBA. Different games.

Me prediction: Hobbs announces timelines for the RAC renovations and practice facility at the end of this season. Jordan announces his retirement as coach, but stays at Rutgers in a noncoaching role. Hobbs brings in a new head coach (not named Hurley).

Sounds like a winner.

What about the 2 mil?
Jordan gives it up to save face, take one for the team, and gets another job with RU that doesn't pay nearly as much?

Not sure he does that, but it would be best for RU, that's for sure.
