The good the bad and the ugly

The good- Kaliakmanis showed why he won the starting job. He made great decisions, hit his targets and zero turnovers. The running game looked good especially late in the game. Rutgers is in business.

The bad- The defense struggled a little bit early, they had some problems covering a scrambling QB. And they only got 1 sack late in the game.

The ugly- Coach Shiano's unsportsmanlike penalty. There may have been PI but he has to keep his head like Kyle did when those two defenders were yacking at him after the late hit.

Over all the team played fine and thanks to the next group of men Rutgers beat the spread.

To the good you should add Rutgers actually using the TE position in the passing game. It’s a position that should really be able to take advantage of defenses that are focused on stopping Monangai.

Definitely the biggest and most pleasant surprise. He made leaps and bounds in the off season. He was all over the field and had 14 tackles and 5 solo tackles. Makes me feel a lot better about the LB situation.

The Bad - Chris Long makes zero sense as a starter, Dremel, Black and Duff are all better options IMO. Long didn’t play well and I just don’t think he’s good enough to start, and none of the receivers really created much separation at all so the other starters were not that great either.

Great job by sanders to hustle and make the last block to ensure Rogers scored on the INT.

AK showing that we have a QB that can make post snap decisions. Remove the intentional throw aways and 2 drops and that percentage is impressive. The drop by Miller was literally a perfect throw that cannot be dropped.

KM looking so strong and Brown finishing strong.

Not running on 3rd and 25 (brown TD).


BAD
Not a fan of the slow mesh. It seemed like that was the best way to slow down KM.

read option with 6 minutes left and the outcome already decided? that is a huge no.

UGLY
How we used the 3 timeouts in the 1st half. Ultimately prevented us from getting another offensive play or 2 at the end of the 1st. Had to settle for 3.
