THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE PREDICTION THREAD

CCS will be without their head coach. They're bigger than CCNY (who isn't) and in year 2 of a rebuild, much like RU. Rutgers should win going away, but I expect to see the starters in a lot longer. And if RU struggles shooting the ball and at the free throw line, it could be closer than we'd like.

I am worried about that too but not until we play East Carolina, this has to be the easiest first 5 games that RU has opened with in history, not a big fan because after E Carolina...we get FSU, Minny, and Mich St all in a row without being tested at all

More pain for our opponent and hopefully our shooters can start getting into a nice rhythm and start hitting more shots from outside the arc.

The St.Johns exhibition game which Rutgers won will be the biggest test prior to Florida State.

Yeah, but there have been scrimmage/exhibitions vs st Johns, monmouth and yale. We have played so decent teams well. ECU and FSU are good challenges but winnable. Minn/MSU change things

They announced 4,300 for the CCNY game (laughable, of course) so I doubt they'll announce less for a Sunday afternoon game against a D1 opponent even if most of the students who went to the first game probably won't be back.

CCS has some decent size for a low major team. Their starters are 6-2, 6-3, 6-5, 6-7, and 6-9, and their three primary backups are 6-1, 6-2 and 6-7, the latter of whom hit three 3-pointers against Hartford.

I don’t know how athletic they are, but I don’t think this will be a cakewalk. We will be challenged.

This team might be a few players short of the type of team I hoped it could be this season, but still a program that is on the rise and far better than it used to be.
This game against CCS shown there is a lot of work needed to do to make RUMBB a tourney team and even an NIT one, because RU's roster has hard workers, but depth short on the type of talent on bench that would hel RU have a winning record in 2017-18.
Pike's recruiting makes me think that will end soon and he'll bring in the talent needed to make RUMBB a winning program and a tourney regular in a couple more years.
