This has a high potential as a trap game. It is normal and natural for a team to have ups and downs. No coach can eliminate it, only hope to reduce. Players and fans are too confident. Unfortunately this is the way things work at Rutgers.

I predict I'll be sitting in seats way above my pay grade for a change during this one (think cushy seats!) and that RU's last home game of 2016 is a comfortable win.

I have no idea about FDU. But the only way this game is close or we lose is if they shoot the lights out from 3. Our perimeter defense is shaky and will be our downfall in a bunch of games this year. But I doubt this is one of them.

I don't think there's any letdown whatsoever. These guys seem focused and that was a big win at Stony. With that, no way I can predict a score but I will predict another win. I also predict that the crowds will start to improve with the winning. There's a buzz about Rutgers hoops going around right now. These kids deserve more people at the RAC. Can we get 5000 for this one?
Not on a Wednesday night in the middle of final exams. We got 5,000 for Morgan State, but that was a Saturday night.
Very disappointed that this game is not on a regional cable network.

There's one word for why I'm not nervous about these opponents anymore and I'm not saying it's a cake walk because every team has shooters and if you don't come to play you could lose against anyone. That word is DEFENSE and it's something that we haven't had in years. The two others that follow DEFENSE are REBOUNDING and FREE THROWS (sorry, the last one is two words)
I'm so happy that we finally have a coach who not only preaches defense but also one that has multiple defenses and presses that the team understands and uses. DEFENSE is 75% of the game because again, anyone in D1 ball knows how to shoot. If you have an off night from 3 point range you can always revert to DEFENSE and making baskets in transition. We've waited years since bob wenzel to decide to defend and this staff is even better. When they start succeeding in trapping, this is going to be one of the best defenses in the country.

meh I dont know...I have been looking at the FDU scores this year...they really are not good...some big time blowout by 20 plus to the likes of St Peters and Army. They are just 2-7 and beat only FDU Florham and Lipscomb. This team is probably worse than everyone except North Texas and Central Conn St
no way 5K...alot of the games have been inflated attendance wise thus far. I think the Morgan State was probably our only game where we really had over 4K
students attendance is spotty, I mean there are bodies there but only about 50 of them are into the game. We have not a game where we got a real student turnout yet.
Unfortunately with PSU and Northwestern during break, RU will have wait until the Nebraska game until we get a real student turnout
they lost to Army 97-78 and Iona 90-73 recently and St Peters 84-58...I am gathering their defense is pretty pathetic.
I looked at the Ohio State game. Game was close with OSU shooting 6-15 from 3 and FDU 7-22.
Do we have another North Texas game in us?
I obviously don't expect us to lose, but I think there is an outside chance.
Wouldn't predicting us to lose 68-63 imply you expect us to lose?

Game is relatively close at half as we are up by 6. Rutgers goes on a mid 2nd half run fueled by good defense, FDU TOs, and RU runouts for easy hoops. Bullock still doesn't play but Laurent scores 10 :smiley:.

Sluggish 1st half that is tied at 25 at half. FDU comes out in the 2nd half and starts making 3s. We press (figuratively speaking) and miss open looks. Sanders and/or Freeman play in foul trouble and ultimately foul out.
