will be a game we really miss Caleb. Shannon might eat up Hyatt.
Why would Hyatt be matched up against Shannon ? A guard who plays on the perimeter. Wouldn't Hyatt guard Goode or Domask when they are in? Or even 6'8 Guerrier when Wolf is not playing the 4.Agreed. I was really hoping Mag made his return against a cupcake prior to this game. Even if he played 10-15 min on Shannon it would make a difference.
We really don't have a good wing defender without Mag. It's seemingly Hyatt or Griffiths size wise with the matchup. The other guards are tiny. Maybe Williams but he still gives up some size there and not sure he can handle Shannon anyway. Oskar, no. Wolf interesting... he does move ans guard the perimeter very well for his size but that's a foul waiting to happen and likely creates a mismatch elsewhere
These athletic wing type players are a mismatch for RU with Caleb gone and no Mag back yet
Just looked and everyone is 6'6 and up in their starting lineup. This must be what teams felt going up against RU in years past. Our guards are going to need to step up and play tough. We are giving up a lottt of size. A smaller player is going to be forced on Shannon. I'd like to see the heavy guard pressure all game. I'm sure Pike preached rebounding all week. This game will probably come down to how Illinois handles the man to man full court pressure by Fernandes, Simpson and then Davis.
Quite the change for Illinois this year with their size in the backcourt.Just looked and everyone is 6'6 and up in their starting lineup. They don't have true point guard eitherWith the way our quick little guards defend, Illinois is coming into a hornet’s nest at the RAC.
I say the Knights sting the Illini, 64-61.
They both respect us which is refreshing.Illinois is probably the one B1G fanbase I actually legitimately like. Them and Purdue seem like the 2 that don't annoy me.
That's comforting. Perhaps the press and the crowd can help the home team prevail. They don't have true point guard either
