THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-INDIANA PREDICTION THREAD

I admit the Illinois loss dampened my hopes(my bad)
But the Purdue loss re-ignited me

As long as Corey steps up like a pro
Rutgers 68
Indiana 67

This one is a close one. Indiana shoots as poorly as Rutgers and is one of the worst 3 point shooting teams in the country, although Johnson can get streaky. Both Morgan and McSwain can play at the rim. This one is all about effort and intensity, thus, the reason Indiana crushed Michigan State on the boards Saturday night even though the tallest player on Indiana is 6'8" (excluding Davis who's out for the year and Priller/Moore who very rarely see the court) . Rutgers must match the intensity that Indiana will bring.
Both teams coming off 1 day rest. Thinking Rutgers wins by 4 points in a low scoring game, 66-62, filled with many opportunities for offensive rebounding due to poor shooting on both sides.

Another winnable game at the RAC if the team scores more than 60 points. There is no margin for error with a depleted squad.
Rutgers 63 - Indiana 60

The only thing that can be predicted is that this team can't be predicted. Corey shows up and plays the way he can and did, RU shoots well and we win. Corey doesn't show up, which, on occasion he hasn't, and we don't shoot well we lose. That has been the pattern. As a fan, I hope for number one.

They really need this one for the season to not spiral. As has been stated here, we need the effort and intensity from this past weekend.

Indy is a slightly better team, but the homecourt advantage gives us the edge tonight: RU 69-65.

I'm completely befuddled. I seriously have no idea which team is going to show up. At this point I'll just go with toss-up.

Indiana 68 Rutgers 64
Both teams are coming off of near upsets but I think that we just don't have the dogs to pull this one out. Would love to be wrong, hopefully Doorson is okay he gave some nice minutes against Purdue.

Want to say RU, but concerned about getting up after such an all out effort against Purdue only two days ago.

Indiana is not a good road team. They play to their level of their competition much like RU. Closes losses to Duke and Michigan State but then bad losses as well but RU will decide this game...depends on which RU team decides to show up.

My gut is that we shouldn't be predicting RU to win any remaining game with Mike and Gene injured. But I think Saturday's performance might spill over to tonight, and Indiana will also have tired legs after playing Saturday evening. The RAC seems to be worth a 6 to 10 point swing for us, so I'm going to predict a win.

RU 68
IU 62

Indiana is a "name" team, so I think there will be 5,000 plus in the building tonight, especially if the students show up.

Indiana is coming off the same all out effort in their 63-60 loss to Michigan State but they are the ones who have to go on the road. This is a game where an involved RAC crowd could make a difference...Expect 4-4500 but this is where I bitch we should have 6K because it could really make a difference in these swing games the last 3 home games all which are winnable

Interesting. Wasn't aware of the Indiana--Mich State result.

Tough matchup for us considering Archie’s packline and the fact that Omoruyi wouldve been the perfect matchup for Juwan Morgan but like mentioned above it all depends on which Rutgers team shows up. If Shaq is a no go then Douc, Sa, and Freeman will NEED to stay out of foul trouble vs Juwan Morgan who is a top Foul Drawn per 40 min player in the country. This is a game we can afford to go small as well so will be interesting to see what Pike draws up

My guess:

RU 63
IU 67

Indiana-74;RU- 65 - let down after Saturday. Maybe 4,300 scanned tickets tonight .

Not looking good at this point... Corey would be wise to forget the NBA early thinking. We look drained and just worn down... can’t fault them after you lose 2-3 starters on a 7 man team.

We scored zero points against IU in football and 16 in 20 minutes tonight. We are a broke down engine.

lol there are always excuse why the fans or students do not come

I have next weeks excuse...its at 9PM....its too late
I share my season tickets and we have a draft to see who gets what games. I put a big 'ole red flag on that Northwestern game with the 9 PM start on a weeknight. No thanks.

That's an actual excuse lol most people who work cannot attend a 9pm weeknight game, nor could a student with an exam the next day, or other/better plans for that matter.
