This will be a tough game. Rutgers just played an emotionally draining game on Monday night on the road, and now have a quick turnaround with two days off. Our guys need to FOCUS in order to avoid an emotional letdown.
Also, Maryland seems to run a lot of iso, and pick and roll, as they only have 155 assists on 358 made FGs. This game will come down to how well we guard 6-1 guard Jahmir Young, who averages 14 ppg and 3 apg, but their other three big scorers can also hurt us.

I think it's going to be something like this. This has trap game written all over it. I'm guessing RU goes down by 10ish in the 1st half and slowly crawls their way back.

Against Purdue, Caleb tried to set the tone and tried to score early and end of the game, Paul tried (successfully) to control the game by taking what is coming to him. They are very very mature now and recognizes what needs to be done.
I still have visions of Fats Russell and Ayala raining threes down on us last year at home. I know they are gone, but I think 4 of the 5 starters average in double figures. I also don't think they are near as bad as they looked against Michigan. I expect a close game.
My feeling is Willard knows our weaknesses better than the rest of the Big 10 coaches. His strategy may not work but his best one. I think RU has to shake off coming down from a high. Of the next 4 games i fear this game the most

Good point. We will likely see something to what SHU threw at us earlier. They coached together and Willard has the video.
My hope is this is such an obvious trap game that it allows the kids to have the awareness avoid it.

I think Hakim Hart is their best player but he'll have to deal with McConnell so not too worried there. Jahmir White could pose some problems as a quick guard that Rutgers generally has trouble countering defensively. But I don't see any matchup issues anywhere else. They are a pretty good defensive team so I'll go low scoring.

I don't like the fact that UMDs last game was a blowout loss. I think that hurts their pride and they are going to come into this one knowing that beating RU rights their ship. As we saw against SHU, an opponent that brings the full throttle energy can be a problem. I can see it being a game of runs. Hopefully, RU has one more run in them than Maryland.
Whenever I see everyone picking RU to win against a good team, I worry about whether the team might be overconfident and due for a letdown. 40+ years of disappointment will do that to you, lol. Having said that, at full strength, we've yet to not bring it on defense and only had the one clunker on offense (SHU), so I'm hopeful we continue our winning ways.
