Miami 72 RUTGERS 66

I thought this was a definite loss but Miami has been very ordinary this year. They struggled with Bethune Cookman, barely got by Fresno St and lost to SHU. The game is winnable but not quite confident enough to pull the trigger given the offensive struggles of late of some key players like Kiss, Mathis, Harper and Johnson who will have to contribute. If three of them do and the rest of the guys give their usual, we will win

Rutgers rarely wins road games against power conference opponents.

Miami 76- Rutgers 64

For me the biggest question is how we shoot the ball. That’s where jitters most show up.

UM 77. RU 63

I wish I didn’t have a bad feeling but St John’s game is dancing in my head. I hope I’m dead wrong because we need to start making strides.

MIami. 80

Jet lag kicks in but Miami holds on to win by 6 - 72-66

Jet lag from a 3 hr flight today to Miami for a game tomorrow nite?

The game at Wisconsin is more of a concern at the end of this stretch.

Hope the new guys shoot well. We will need it to stay in these games.

He means for Miami. Played 3 games in 4 days in California and just flew back Monday

Rutgers must drive on Izundu and draw fouls. He is their best rebounder and has fouled out of a couple of games this season.

Pressure Anthony Lawrence, #3 on a press and up to half court.

Both teams can get pretty sloppy with the ball. It's better for Omoruyi to be in the paint because he can draw fouls, has a high percentage there, and since he's not making passes to the paint, his turnovers should be reduced.

Out of all things, I hope to see the team improve their turnover rate going forward.

Miami's best scorer is 5 7 and less than 160 pounds. Nate Robinson type. Baker should be able to utilize his arm length to decrease his vision. They also run a lot of players.

If they can focus on Izundu and Lawrence, the program can win. If they cannot, they will have a higher chance of losing as Miami can score and turn the ball over for opponents.

RU 65, MiAMI 64.

We are going to have alot of problem containing Miami's speed and quickness, especially their 5-7 PG, and they can also drain threes in bunches. I see this one playing out like the SJU game, unfortunately.

Jacob Young would have been perfect for this game with his speed. I see a blow out, unfortunately. Miami 80, RU 60.

Miami 78 - RU 64. This RU team still too young to compete on the road against a good P6 team. Would love to be wrong.

Mimia lost to St Johns SUN night
Struggled with 3-4 Bethune Cookman yesterday

Could be interesting

Miami 72
Rutgers 68
Actually, Miami (Fla) lost to SH Sunday night and Bethune Cookman beat Stetson (Fla) 84-74 Monday.

We have had back to back games where we have had bad games from the majority of the team. If the team breaks out of the shooting slump we get this win. Miami looks sloppy from what I saw against SHU. They will turn it over a ton and Eugene will draw 3 charges this game Lawrence drives out or control. Time to make a #GardenStatement with a big road win. Tired legs get to Miami in the second half

I think it’s all gonna turn on how well we can shoot early in the game.

Some great comments on here that don’t necessarily match up to the predictions.

Kinda feels like the board is not ready to pick RU unless we shoot well. Well I’m ready to expect a decent, not necessarily lights out shooting night to go along with our improving defense.

I say Rutgers wins, 71-67.

And I’ll get to see it happen in person, from behind the RU bench. Getting psyched...

I am not ready to pick RU until I see it....i need to see something more out of the freshmen and Kiss...their level of play will not beat Miami. Last year RU played a better than expected game in a loss to FSU. We need that level of jump in play from the newcomers to pick off Miami. If this game was home I would like our chances more. Lets see what we got...but they have to prove it, thats why I cannot pick them

That’s where I’m at....I smell a four point game one way or the other

BAC- I just notice you have almost 113,000 posts. Curious, is that the most on the board?

If Miami allowed Mike Nzei from SHU to get layups and 8 for 8 from the field, my guess is they will shore up the defense OR Eugene will get 18 to 20 on Miami in 30 minutes.

I have noticed that #1 for Miami got into it against a couple of players in all 3 games out in California...he is the type of player that will annoy and frustrate an opponent with chippy play.

I expected a better overall effort from Miami vs SHU and it never happened. Somehow it will be up to RU to get to the basket and slow the game down with FTs.

The 1st available shot may be open for RU...do they take it and get into an up and down game running and taking 30+ 3's...?

Or do they revert back to sluggo ball, draining possession by possession looking to limit run outs?? My key is Eugene drawing charges and getting whatever he wants inside against the U. If Eugene generates offense, RU stays intact all game long.

Somehow I think #1 & Peter Kiss will annoy each other and light a fire under Kiss....maybe he's relaxed because Mathis isn't quite ready yet, but the free wheeling Kiss taking quick shots and aggressive is the only path I can see for RU playing well enough to win.

Call me a homer, I'm fine with it, but I see Kiss and Mathis combining for 22 points and getting a lot of open looks/lanes to the basket. Add in Eugene, Geo and another 14 to 16 combined from Thiam & Harper and suddenly you have a ball game late.

RU 71 Canes 68.....

I like your take Hawk, and the score you predict. Seems reasonable for us homers.

Brutal schedule for a young team not yet ready for prime time.. Miami, MSU, Wisconsin all play at a higher level right now. Three beatdowns in a row. Maybe next year, as the players gain more experience, Rutgers will be able run such a gauntlet. But not today.
