THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-WASHINGTON STATE PREDICTION THREAD

I think RU is a better team than when we faced them last year.
Nova was largely good in that game. QB play for us, more than our secondary, will determine how we do.

Conversely, WSU had Connor Halliday. He was absolutely great for them. You can reasonably argue he's a bigger loss. He took some monster hits, kept getting up, and continued to lead them down the field. Nova disappeared for over a full quarter.

Everybody is calling for a high scoring game but these things never go the way we expect

RU 17
Wash St 7

Watch the film....that was one of Nova's worst games last season. People remember the first play but it wasn't good for a while after that.

Eh, not feeling great about our secondary. Rutgers wins 44-41 in OT.

I'm with the Rutgers wins in a blow out group. Think Laviano goes nuts, understands he needs to be playing his absolute best and comes out with some fast tds. The defense catches the momentum... games over by half time, any tds come late for WSU.

Spot on. I've been saying this for the last few days Connor Halliday was that team last year. In a Mike Leach offense there is only one player who counts and that's the QB. Guess what he's not walking through the door on Saturday. Luke Falk is young and not as comfortable in the offense yet. His reads are not as quick. He will find holes but not at the rate Halliday did. Believe we win 42-28.

I never predict, but for those who like to follow the computer ratings like me:

Sagarin has us with a 10 point win

Massey has it 38-31 for RU

35-23 RU. And it's not as close in the 4th as the score seems. Late TD by Wash St. makes it seem a little tighter.

My prediction is that there will people in the Scarlet Lot before dawn...drinking...with a big dog. I will be one of them.

RU is dominate in 2 of the 3 phases. The O is superior to the Wazzu D and the disparity in special teams play is a gap wider than the grand canyon. Have to believe the RU D is better than the Portland state D, so the Cougar O best have an amazing improvement in 1 week. Don't forsee a letdown or looking past Wazzu to next weeks showdown so this should be an impressive win.
The cougar fans will continue to look like that fan after the Carroo bomb on the first play last year. Wish I was savvy enough to post the look on that guys face. One of the top 5 highlights of last year.

NO SCORE PICK BUT WE ARE POSITIVELY GOING TO GET THE VICTORY. I have a very good feeling about this '15 team of ours. raise a couple for me at your tailgates.[cheers]

Rutgers 42 WSU 24 I wouldn't say NO to a little DE JEVOUS(sp)all over again.

We win, however, there will still be a lot of questions that haven't been answered about this team.

Us 42
Them 34

With the wet forecast, I'm surprised by the high point totals projected here as 1) I see WSU's firepower slowed/hindered by it like it was vs. PS and their QB even less confident today (no matter how green our DBs) and 2) McDaniels likely sticking to a clock-eating ground game because that's our strength and their blatant weakness. I also wouldn't be surprised if the plan is to make Laviano look like he's only a game manager to entice ttfp to put 8 in the box often next week.

So you guys think a team that only scored 17 points against Portland State is gonna put up 30-40 points on RU?
Lol.
