THE RAC

The RAC is a arena where the crowd really has a impact on the game because of the noise level.Seton Hall had a hard time executing in the second half because students were screaming behind the basket where they were shooting.

It got really loud today. Kudos to the RU fans.
My ears are ringing.

Give credit to SHU fans too, they had a few loud chants.

Great atmosphere today.
Huge win for the RU program.

Very tough loss for SHU but they will be fine and have a great season IMO.

and the lower levels were up today...this was the RAC back to Waters levels at least. Need to keep it that way especially in the less sexy games

lol sorry but the SHU fans really were barely heard outside of one chant...they were pretty irrelevant to the atmosphere except for window dressing

The atosmisphere was awesome today. Pike mentions it several times in his presser. I think they all know the potential now.

FAIL - not only were there many fewer Sh*t Head U fans then some here predicted, they were generally quiet and lame. I heard a few Let's Go Pirates chants that lasted about 10 seconds. The RAC atmosphere is something SHU will never have. There is no tradition. They rent a pro arena in a crappy area WAY off campus, even in decent years it is mostly empty. Do they even have a fight song?

Was shocked at how few shu fans there were. Seemed they all were in the 300's in the rafters on the players bench side of the RAC

Couldn't attend today had clients up until gametime, unfortunately, but the announcers couldn't stop talking about the atmosphere. They've freakin' loved it!

Same here. I was expecting 1/4 of the building filled with obnoxious SHU fans. Guess the fans mailed this “win” in along with the players.

I listened to SHU's broadcast on the drive out of there. The announcers and fans want to blame it on the team and coaches, but they gave a lot of credit to the atmosphere and said the last time SHU went to the RAC, it was half-full and SHU won by 29. The Pirates were completely unprepared for what was coming for them.

I'd say around 20% which was what I think was predicted by most.

Around 20% RU fans were in The The Rock last year but since their capacity is 10,500 there were more RU fans overall.

Carino thought there would be 25% SHU so he was a little high.

RU fans brought their A game today.
Very supportive and none left early even when RU went down by 9 in the 2nd half.

20% you say? I guess half of them were wearing red, how nice of them.

It was definitely the best atmosphere at the RAC in years. Imagine replacing the Seton Hall fans with Rutgers fans (or at least 75% of them), and you get the peak RAC that those of us who have been around for a while remember (or at least close to it).

I have seats in the low 200s and looked back up towards the top of the arena late in the game. A majority of the fans were on their feet... what a feel in the building.
