Jerry Carino joins @RUJON and me on Episode 31 of The Scarlet Spotlight. We cover a lot of ground about Rutgers men's basketball -- including Eugene Omoruyi's transfer, the minutes redistribution, recruiting, the August trip to Spain and new rules in college basketball.

@kcg88 has it right. I went to college with the three stooges at that other pod... so we have history going back to our days together on the 4th floor of the College Ave. Student Center at WRSU. All in good fun.

Great episode. I will say, i dont want to start a brand new thread making people go nuts, but I do have a problem with Geo not being on campus for summer workouts right now. Especially right after losing Eugene.

Jacob Young is also not on campus. And as of yesterday neither is Caleb McConnell.

yeah I wish they all just stayed on campus for the summer. I get that they have lives outside of NJ as well but NJ isn't the worst place on earth to be in the summer.

It doesn’t appear that you get that they have lives outside of NJ. Let them have a little bit of a life and get to see friends and family or do nothing for a while and recharge their batteries. Everyone needs a break. Plus, they’ll all be together soon enough and the Spain trip will be great team building exercise.

Are they back home for the entire summer or just to visit? I think they should go back for a bit to get away, rejuvenate, and see family but then head back to RU and get back to work with the team

Not sure i would assume it’s just until maybe next summer session starts?
 
Don’t forget that they’ll also be in Spain in August, so I mean, they have to go see their families at some point. They’re kids.

I enjoyed it too and really like Carino for his bball knowledge but don't think he has much insight here. He's guessing like everyone else.

Bruce Johnson should be interesting. Will be interesting to see how he feels about RU now that the weasel who gave him a raw deal is long gone
