The NCAA has got to get a lot of things straightened out. There is "showmanship" going on, all over the nation now, that would have been 15-yards just a few years ago. I've seen "throat slashes" and "superman" shit, without calls, all over the place this year. Now...I'm not saying this should be a penalty...don't get me wrong, but it IS and it's no longer getting called, unless it's against the "lesser" programs.

The targeting call is tough. Gotta protect the QB, no doubt, but in cases as such, where the defender is CLEARLY making his move before the QB does (and I mean ANY move alluding to the fact that he's leaving his feet/going in for the hit, before the QB makes any "slide-for-safety" move), the defender SHOULD NOT be responsible IMHO.
