Who if anybody is moderating it? I ask for various reasons but mainly because a bunch of valuable posters are gone or choosing not to post. Also, a thread I was just going to post in vanished before my eyes. TIA.

Just spoke to someone who read the board and wanted to know what was wrong with everyone on it.

It has become a platform for about 5? or 6? posters to post the exact same thing time after time after time (after time). The funny thing is, they don't understand that everyone else isn't a bunch of idiots. Rather, folks simply disagree on whether or not CVS should be retained, which by implication is how much do folks believe next year's team will be better than this year and whether they can accept however much better they think it will be. Heck, maybe there are fans who would rather have Vivian as coach even if the team only wins 10 games next year. I'm not saying there is, but if there were - they are entitled to that opinion.

There are legitimate reasons to feel both ways about retaining Vivian. But a small group of fans don't seem to understand that constantly repeating the same thing isn't changing anyone's opinion. Meanwhile it has driven any actual discussion of players off the board.

Count me as someone who is done with reading or responding in those threads. I'll come on the board to read OT posts and BeK's stuff. In the end, I have no personal stake in CVS's future, and I will simply accept whatever that future is.

There is pretty much one person who runs this board.
No matter if it's one or a hundred someone will claim they're being picked on if told to behave or stop repeating themselves.
Using myself as an example, I could be asked to stop posting about CVS being a HOF HC, the teams record under her the last 5-7 years and many other messages I post that are about the same ( every time) in replies to other posters that just about say the same bash over and over.
Talking about the players and other WBB discussions that are not about firing CVS doesn't last long before someone hijacks that thread in order to talk about how Vivian
should be let go.
Let a mod ask a hijacker to stop and return to the original issue you get that hijacker complaining about being picked on.

The activity on this board reflects the interest in the team. Look at the drop-off in attendance at the games! There's nothing much to say when you're 6-23....except the bantering about whether to bring Stringer back or not.

The fact that game threads are seldom seen on this board is a clear sign of non interest. In comparison the mens basketball team has similar disappointing league results yet game threads have hundreds of responses .

could be what you are saying or might include some who would have posted on ( or started ) game thread just didn't want to watch it turn into more arguing over CVS' status than talking about the game being played.
But in all honesty you are probably right because of the lack of fans posting in any thread on this board.
Last season the basketball team sucked and most threads wound up bashing Jordan, but the traffic didn't seem to be slowed down by the losses and game threads were usually no less than 3 pages.

Of course the obvious answer is that winning and/or excitement about the program will result in increased posting and the number of postings. Both are non-existent right now. The result is what we see today as the current state of the board.
The excitement started to sharply decline after the Vaughn-Zurich class graduated, IMO. The after game discussions used to be very spirited in both wins and defeats and we had several frequent posters from other boards (Louisville, Uconn, DePaul etc).

I don't know who deleted said thread, because it wasn't me. And despite the insinuation below from PhilaPhans (a moderator himself) to the contrary - there are others with moderator rights who step in from time to time on this board. I know that I haven't deleted a thread in months.
I think a lot of long-time fans are tired of seeing every game-related or team-related discussion turning into a "fire CVS" discussion.
I apologize for not being around much these days, but for personal reasons I have very little time at to spend at my computer.
In response to the "where are the game threads" comments, I'll say what I've said before - anyone can start a game thread, so complaining about this is just plain whining. The fans who have stuck it out through this difficult season are too busy going to the games to start game threads.

[Update: I found the deleted thread (deleted by John O). It was starting to get nasty. I probably would have locked it, but I respect John's decision.]

Uh, I think not. I almost always start game threads, stop spewing misinformation on here, and yes you do it frequently. Thanks.

To be fair, if that's true that means they've only played one game in the month of February, 3 if your other screen name is Gigantor. I never post around here but it was pretty easy to go back and check. And yes, I understand there are home games involved but on the surface there are only 3 game threads on the last 2 pages of this board.

I stand corrected, only started 10 this season. Forgot about time in hospital, and "other" factors.

Why should anybody be positive about the Women's Basketball situation at 6-23? Except for former players and relatives of the Coach.

Beats whining and crying all the time, but still can be unhappy about a 6-23 record.
A positive outlook about next year is one's own choice.

I prefer to look at the players coming in after siting this season to make a big difference and bring a possible tourney bid because the team will have vastly improved.
Sunshine and Blue Skies is what I expect for RU WBB in 2017-18
Others much rather look at the down side of everything and expect a bad year .
Doom and bloom is what they predict and their not shy about it.

I'm not going to act shy and will be more than glad to share ( with all) my Happy Days will be here again outlook for next year.

Hey, I don't really care nor do I know your personal situation. I was just perusing threads on the women's board as a newbie and saw your response and thought it was curious so I checked and posted about it. Sorry if that bothers you. I will stop posting on this section of the board and make it more inactive if you'd like.

I prefer this [winking] :
Wash away my troubles, wash away my pain
With the rain in Shambala
Wash away my sorrow, wash away my shame
With the rain in Shambala

Ah, ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Everyone is helpful, everyone is kind
On the road to Shambala
Everyone is lucky, everyone is so kind
On the road to Shambala

Ah, ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

How does your light shine, in the halls of Shambala

I can tell my sister by the flowers in her eyes
On the road to Shambala
I can tell my brother by the flowers in her eyes
On the road to Shambala

Ah, ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

How does your light shine, in the halls of Shambala

It amazes me that some folks have enough free time to post about the lack of posts.

No need to get snarky. You called her out and she answered you honestly.
