It is going to get very loud that KF should resign or get fired. There are way to many people who do not like RU and RU sports who are not going to let this stay with just a 3 game suspension. I have no inside information but I believe KF has coached his last game at RU.

And a lot of them are on this board.

I certainly love RU, but a 3 game suspension is absolutely the wrong decision here. And we should have known that. Public pressure will only increase. The absolute stupidity shown by Flood in the report is unfathomable. I don't think he's a bad guy -- to the contrary, I think he's a great guy who was just doing the wrong things out of his love for the team. But it's still not ok. He made horribly bad decisions and he needs to go.

The national perception is hurting bad now for Rutgers. If they just flat out fire Flood it will end better than keeping him. He seems like a good dude, but it's gone too far. Herman must go too.

The dignified thing to do is to resign. If he really cares about the players and Rutgers as much as we are to believe, he will want to avoid the festering controversy and humiliation on the national stage.

This strikes me as a classic first-phase move for Flood to be bought out without being fired. The board meeting on Friday might have been more of a negotiation between Flood, the administration, the athletics department, and the teacher's union, with the NCAA waiting in the wings. Rutgers administration looks pro-active, Flood gets to coach again without a firing on his record (he will probably resign--my guess), the teachers get what they want and make a statement to all future coaches, RU brings in a new coach (I'm guessing Schiano returns), which will make some of the big-money donors happy.

There is more to this saga. Too much shit went wrong for this to be the end of it, but there is a golden opportunity to right the ship with the right people in charge. Rutgers is a $3bb brand, and it needs to be restored and protected. A disciplinarian with ties to the area is one solution, and perhaps the best solution. One guess who that points to.

It's absolutely the RIGHT decision. You don't call a press conference and fire him immediately. They will part ways before the suspension is done. This is the way it SHOULD be handled.

He's probably done, they're just building the case ... which does take time.

However, at the same time they couldn't linger too much on this scandal as well and had to do something. The unfortunate part was the leak, as this made this process too drawn out.
