This week’s AP Top 25 Poll

There are 14 P4 teams that are undefeated. Only 4 are currently unranked; Duke, Pitt, Indiana, and RU. Anyone want to bet, that when the rankings are released there will be only two unranked, undefeated, P4 teams? RU, and Duke.
Pitt didn’t play this week. They beat 2 real teams just like us - both of which look worse after this week - Cincy (just lost to TT). WVU didn’t play but their lone decent win doesn’t look as great with Kansas losing again.

Meanwhile - we added a win over a previously 3-1 Washington team and if anything the win at VTech looks better after this weekend with VTech losing to #8 on a questionable final call.

I am ok this week if we are not ranked. Sort of wish we didn't kneel down at VT and had it a 2 score win. But if we are around 30, it is ok with me. Let's pull off the big win at Nebraska.

I am not sure if Nebraska is as good as either VT or Washington. They do have the freshman 5 star QB that like Mahomes bad haircut. I am not sure that they have Washington's running game though.
It will be tough in Nebraska though and not sure we learned anything from anyone they have played so far. Have a feeling it is a one score game.

Rutgers gets a handful of votes no top 25.

This weekend:
26 Washington State loss
27 Indiana win
28 Boston College win
29 UNLV win
30 Pittsburgh bye
31 Nebraska win

Kentucky beat #6 Ole Miss. Five of top 25 who lost, lost to top 25 opponents and are unlikely to be whacked in the rankings.

Indiana, BC, UNLV, Nebraska, and Kentucky more likely than Rutgers to snag top 25 spots.
just win at nebraska if we lose that game the whole top 25 thing won’t matter.

Keep winning, while playing tougher defense. Those in the Top 25 mostly kept winning, while if not lost to 1 loss teams. Rutgers chance this week was destroyed on that ugly Blue turf in Boise. Washington State who beat Washington lost by 21.

It all adds up, VA Tech should have but didn't, we win, but in a fashion where non home fans can say Washington lost, and this was a week of near upsets. Maybe if Washington had won the Apple Cup.

Now 34th, it’s a start.
Not sure how Pitt has 42 votes and RU 7. Pitt's wins are not more impressive than Rutgers and they just squeaked by their only decent opponents just like Rutgers.

Exactly where I predicted. We break in at 7-0. National perception is still bad, and we basically still have to luck into wins against mid-pack teams as evidenced by VT and UW.

Pitt has much better stats..which a lot of times is all voters look at since it’s hard for them to watch every game.

If we beat Nebraska but we get lucky like we did Friday (cause yea we were lucky to win)..sure.

If we win convincingly and look good while doing it and win the stats..we can certainly be ranked at 5-0.

It’s not all about wins and losses..it’s how you look doing it

You mean better offensive stats? Because they won by 1 over Cincinnati and 4 over WV, but are giving up a boatload of points.

Yes. Again, it’s not so much the results of the game but how you looked. Pitt is certainly not great on defense..probably why they’re not ranked

If we win next week I think we have a chance for GameDay the next week

I suppose there’s always a chance but with a ton of ranked matchups currently that week:

Texas oklahoma
Penn state usc
Ole miss lsu
Ohio state oregon

I’ll say the chances are very slim

He seems to be your typical Southerner over evaluating the SEC all while mixing in some "surprise" picks to get noticed, and drive letters to the editor in an attempt to help his failing employer.
